Before you give them too much credit, realize that it's not the fact that he lied, so much. He's done that before. It's that he lied about a core section of his biography. And there wasn't a nifty way to spin it.
Now, the question is, who will reap the spoils? Back to Trump, or onto the next hot thing?

Carson never applied to West Point and never said he did.
He chose medicine over the military and always wanted to.
So, you have a liberal rag lying about a conservative Black Man.
And many people fell for it.
Another conservative Black man lynched by the media.
Like Clarence Thomas.
Like Sheriff David Clarke of Wisconsin.
Like Herman Caine.
Like so many other conservative black men.
Dan, at worst the headline of the article was misleading, and Politico corrected it later in the day. But even if the whole article were wrong, I sat and watched video of Ben Carson himself mistating the story. And it's only one of many stories that seem to have skewed "facts." Throw in his nutty beliefs (pyramids are grain silos!), and no, sorry. The evidence is stacking up. He has absolutely zero political experience, no understanding of how government works, a hazy grasp on his own past, even in his autobiographies. This isn't a "lynching." And on no account is it because he's black.
