What Happens in Vegas: Horrifying Arson at Puppy Store

I'm a cat person, not a dog person. But I can't imagine the stone black heart it would take to plan to burn down your puppy business, while trying intentionally to burn the puppies! Fortunately the little guys survived. But can you imagine any jury not throwing the book at these two?

Puppies safe and happy after surviving pet shop arson

More than two dozen puppies are safe and happy after firefighters rescued them from a burning pet store. Clark County Animal Control officers moved the puppies to The Animal Foundation following the Jan. 27 fire, at Prince and Princess Pet Boutique. . .which authorities say was arson. They say they have surveillance video of shop owner Gloria Lee, 35, allowing a man identified in an arrest report as Kirk Bills into the building. Authorities say Bills is shown on the video splashing kerosene on the puppy cages. . .

Texas Governor's Mansion Up in Flames: Arson

I don't have a huge affinity for Texas (after having spent a sweltering summer in San Antonio; yuck), but it is always sad to see a chunk of history wiped out. OK, yeah, I was a bit more broken up about Universal Studios losing the Back to the Future set, but still. . .

Fire destroys Governor's Mansion: Intentionally Set

The smell of heavy smoke blankets downtown Austin, TX as firefighters manage hot-spots from a fire that has completely gutted the Governor's Mansion.

The Texas Fire Marshall's Office says it has evidence that arson may be the cause of an overnight fire which has gutted the state's Governor's Office.

Paul Maldanado from the state Fire Marshall's Office says agency is reviewing eyewitness reports and surveillance video. Maldanado says there is "evidence that somebody was here" and possibly started the fire, but declined to offer any further details. . .

Mortgage Crisis Leading to Arson?

Wow, you'd think people would see this coming. I'll admit I didn't. But it makes a perverted sort of sense. You're behind on your mortgage, you can't sell the house because you owe more than it's worth. . .throw in a little desperation and perhaps a pre-existing scruples problem, and voila, burning houses.

I wonder what else this will lead to. My guess, nothing good.

Some folks celebrate their last home mortgage payment by setting fire to their loan agreement. Lately, people behind on their mortgages are simply setting fire to their homes. . .
