Progressive Talker Ed Schultz to Run for Senate?

You never can tell if a potential candidate for high political office is or isn't going to actually run. Unless they definitively say they will, every other answer is usually a hedge. Even if they say in no uncertain terms that they will not run, they sometimes do anyway. So far, Big Ed Schultz, a liberal talk radio host, is being slightly less than coy, leaning more toward "won't run" than "will run." But after former Al Franken's finally victorious run for Senate, maybe Ed will find the lure too strong.

Senator Chris Dodd to Retire

Good thing? Bad thing? I'm thinking good, but I guess we won't know for a couple of months. Sen. Byron Dorgan is retiring too, not to mention a Democratic governor. Whether this means there is a "Democratic bloodbath" or not--I'm not sure it does--it's for sure being spun that way. And will be likely for the rest of the week, on into the Sunday shows.

Nobody Could've Predicted The Financial Meltdown?

Except that somebody did. Senator Byron Dorgan (D-N. Dak.) predicted nearly perfectly what could happen way back in 1999. It's too bad we don't have a Wayback Machine, isn't it?
