Phyllis Schlafly Has Died. Finally.

They say evil never dies. And so, I'm forced to raise my previous opinion of the late Phyllis Schlafly. Slightly.

  1. Dude, that's not nice. You may have not liked her policies and views but to be glad for her death?
    If Hillary, Obama or other evil liberals died, I wouldn't celebrate their death. I know other conservatives would but come on, you're better than that.

  2. As we've discussed before, there is a very short list of folks for whom I'd be flippant, as it pertains to mortality. I may have forgotten her at that time, but Schlafly was on that list. I really think we're down to (maybe) Pat Robertson, Ann Coulter and the odd Cheney. As Mark Twain is purported to have said, "I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." And I think my post was rather restrained for the loathing I felt for this particular. . .lady. The fact that she lived to the very ripe old age of 92 removes any untimeliness from the equation, as well as any surprise. The fact that she was as anti-gay as she was, while HAVING a gay son herself was enough reason for me to not be moved to tears. But thank you for thinking I'm better than that!
