Really? Okay, where is the line? You can call the President (deep breath): Marxist, Maoist, statist, communist, socialist, racist, Islamic, pro-terrorist and anti-American, and still keep your job on cable "news." You can say awful things about the first lady, Hillary Clinton, Madeline Albright (yeah, I remember), Janet Reno, and on and on.
I'll concede that "slut" is probably automatically out-of-bounds (though Dan Aykroyd used it on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update referring to Jane Curtin in 1978). But if he'd said bimbo, would he have gotten away with it? I suspect so. Harpie? Shrew? Harlot? Skank? Where is the line?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Keith Olbermann is having a good belly laugh over this. Not only is he familiar with getting suspended by MSNBC, he used to date Laura Ingraham.

The liberal host of MSNBC’s The Ed Show and The Ed Schultz Show radio program was suspended without pay for one week by MSNBC because of sexist comments he made about a conservative radio host.



“President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Missouri on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name?” Schultz asked on his radio program. “Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. . .”

FOX "News" Lies (With Gusto) About Death Panels

This video is a nice encapsulation of exactly what FOX "News" is, and shows why I put the quotes into their name. They are not a news channel. They are propagandists for the Republican party. Worse than that, they shamelessly lie across the board, on their opinion shows and their alleged "news" shows.

Check this video out, and remember while you are watching: there are no death panels. There is no "death book." It's debunked clap-trap. Part of the wildly scatter shot noise machine against the Democratic agenda. Nothing wrong with being in opposition to such an agenda, but when the effort consists almost entirely of lies, you have to wonder if there is a rational counterpoint. People who believe this garbage might want to consider if they enjoy being spoon-fed lies. They might also ponder what the people at FOX "News" really think of their audience's intelligence level.

While I wouldn't go so far as to say I like Laura Ingraham, she does seem to be a notch or two above your typical conservative pundit. She seems smarter somehow, though no less ready to distort any news story to be somehow the Democrats' fault. And Laura seems to be wise to "the FOX way of doing things," too. She doesn't seem like a happy camper in this "behind the scenes" footage from her latest program, JUST in (which is apparently now JUST out, after 3 weeks).

Who the Hell is Tammy Bruce?

I had a strange experience today, while driving around. I'm getting a cold, or a light flu, but was feeling a little cooped up. So, I decided to run up to CompUSA, which is in its last days of a going out of business sale. I found nothing, and moved on back toward home, stopping at Fry's Electronics along the way. Anyway, at some point on my journey, I fumbled for the radio, and hit a button that landed me on an unfamiliar station.

The voice coming out of my radio was Laura Ingraham, which would ordinarily frighten or annoy me (or perhaps a little of both). Today though, she was coming off as downright affable, saying all sorts of nice things about Barack Obama, and some digs at Hillary. Ingraham is also ill this weekend, so maybe she had too much medicine or something.

After my shopping trip at Fry's (which takes minimum an hour, every time--love that store), I got back into the Jeep, started the engine, and was assaulted by a different voice. This person was foreign to me, and boy did I take a visceral dislike to her. It was immediate. Every single thing she had to say was negative, bordering on nasty. Her name, was Tammy Bruce.

I've never heard of her, and knew nothing of her background. She assailed Michelle Obama for her "pride" statement of a few days ago, basically calling both of the Obamas "America haters." She then complained about a news report that said Barack Obama had gotten applause after blowing his nose. Personally, I thought, "Hey, THAT's charisma!" Not Ms. Bruce. She said, (paraphrasing here), "why not applaud him for blowing his nose, he's been wiping something else with what he wants to do to our country." I just thought, "Man, what a [expletive c-word deleted]."

So just now, I looked up Tammy Bruce in Wikipedia. Imagine my surprise to see her described as an out lesbian, a women's rights advocate, and a progressive Democrat. No. Frickin'. Way. Did someone pee in her Wheaties this morning, or is she always like this? I came away wondering if it's an act, or if she actually believes the stuff she was saying. I mean, if it's an act, she's being dishonest. If she really believes that the Obamas hate America, she's stupid.

So is Tammy Bruce dishonest or stupid? Or could it be both?
