Sigh. Death panels? Again? Really?  I don't watch The Ed Show much, but maybe I should start. I mean, who else has the nerve to call Rush Limbaugh The Drugster?

Keith Olbermann's Special Comment: Health Care Summit

Wednesday's Countdown with Keith Olbermann featured a "Special Comment" on Thursday's "bipartisan" health care reform summit. But the bulk of the commentary is about Olbermann's father, and his month's long health care crisis. Olbermann has noted the issue before, but rarely with much detail. Olbermann's detractors have regularly--in their strained attempts at comedy (or something)--derided his frequent absenses due to the health of his dad, and that of his recently passed mother. So this particular special comment seems to be directed at shutting that down, along with a pointed plea to the Congressmen and Senators at tomorrow's summit.

It's good stuff, and also quite sad. I have no doubt however, that the goons at OlbermannWatch, FreeRepublic and other such sites will still make light of the issue and stand--against their own best interests--with the health insurance industry.

Even though the Sarah Palin-created "Death Panel" talking point has been named "lie of the year," the GOP is resurrecting it, in a last ditch effort to derail health care reform. Sigh.

I'm really hoping this woman becomes a Trivial Pursuit question--and nothing more--very, very soon. As much as I love poking fun at her many and varied foibles, I think I've just about had enough. I mean, this story is sort of her capper: she made up a lie out of whole cloth, and it became a juggernaut of "truthiness." Conservatives think we're afraid of Palin because she's so good. No, it's because she's so bad.

FOX "News" Lies (With Gusto) About Death Panels

This video is a nice encapsulation of exactly what FOX "News" is, and shows why I put the quotes into their name. They are not a news channel. They are propagandists for the Republican party. Worse than that, they shamelessly lie across the board, on their opinion shows and their alleged "news" shows.

Check this video out, and remember while you are watching: there are no death panels. There is no "death book." It's debunked clap-trap. Part of the wildly scatter shot noise machine against the Democratic agenda. Nothing wrong with being in opposition to such an agenda, but when the effort consists almost entirely of lies, you have to wonder if there is a rational counterpoint. People who believe this garbage might want to consider if they enjoy being spoon-fed lies. They might also ponder what the people at FOX "News" really think of their audience's intelligence level.
