Greenlee Curse is broken! Ordinarily, when I tout a TV show that I like here on the blog, it is
doomed to failure. Usually early failure. But in addition to
V being renewed on ABC, my perennial favorite,
Medium (starring Patricia Arquette) has been renewed! Hazzah!
Medium is based on the real life psychic, Allison Dubois, with significant Hollywood tweakage. It's an interesting hybrid of a police procedural (another of those,
Cold Case was cancelled) and a supernatural thriller like
The X-Files or
Fringe. Okay, that may be overstating it. Actually, the closest show to
Medium would have to be
Ghost Whisperer which was just handed its walking papers. That's actually a big surprise, and goes against conventional entertainment reporter wisdom. I think it is fitting though. The acting on
Medium (particularly Jake Weber and at least two of the three children) is outstanding, far outclassing anything on
GW.
