Hillary Clinton Trying to Poach Obama's Delgates?

Photo from Raw Story

Oh, come on. By now, I'd say most Democrats--even some who started out Hillary Clinton supporters--are wanting this thing to be over. Tomorrow, the last two primaries are being held. That's it, primary over, right? The likelihood that Barack Obama will have enough delegates--even with the new number from this weekend--is very high. And now, Clinton wants to keep going, and grab some of the already declared delegates?

Do you remember the old vaudeville cliche (or at least the Looney Tunes cliche) of the performer who stays on the stage too long, and then a hook comes from off stage, and grabs them by the neck? We need a hook.

Clinton seeks to go after Obama superdelegates

As Barack Obama turns to concentrate on his general election challenge, his rival Hillary Rodham Clinton is mounting a last ditch campaign to stay relevant in what is left of the Democratic presidential contest.

The former first lady enters this week with an insurgent strategy not only to win over undecided superdelegates but to peel away Obama's support from those party leaders and elected officials who already have committed to back him for the nomination. . .

Obama Gains John Edwards Endorsement

ABC, CNN, CBS & other news sources are reporting that Obama has received the endorsement of John Edwards. It was announced today at a press conference in Michigan. And if you listen to the grapevine... that is a biggie. One more fork in Hillary, if there is space for one more.

"The reason I am here tonight is because the Democratic voters in America have made their choice and so have I there is one man who knows and understands this is a time for bold leadership knows how to make the lasting change from the ground up that it is time to create one America and that man is Barack Obama." ~John Edwards

Barack Obama ½ a Super Delegate Away from Majority

Photo from source, Yahoo! News

Hillary Clinton has moved the goal posts many times as it pertains to the Democratic nomination. Whichever numbers were on her side were the most important at any given time, from "states won," to "BIG states won," "elected delegates" to "super delgates. Her one big number--super delegates--is now also slipping from her grasp. Her former lead has shrunk to a tie, unless you count the "half delegate" that gives her a .5 lead. Is that anything like the .9 cents at the gas station?

Anyway, soon--probably by the time I write this, Barack Obama will have clinched one or two more, and there won't be any math left that works in Clinton's favor. I was pulling for her for a long time, even enjoyed the race a bit. But her behavior since Tuesday has been appalling, and this just has to end.

Obama picks up 9 superdelegates, union endorsement

Barack Obama all but erased Hillary Rodham Clinton's once-imposing lead among national convention superdelegates on Friday and won fresh labor backing as elements of the Democratic Party began coalescing around the Illinois senator for the fall campaign. . .
