Right Wing World: A New Party to Split from the GOP? Great Idea!!!

I thought that the Tea Party was supposed to be "better" and "more conservative" than the establishment Republican Party. But when the establishment cowtows to the Teas, and the Teas all run as Republicans, who can tell them apart? So, someone has gotten the bright idea to start a breakaway party. And, get this. . .with Sarah Palin as its figurehead. Yeah!

I couldn't have scripted it better. This would be so amazing. Do it! Do it now! Don't wait until after the midterms, strike while the iron is hot!

Bob Barr a John McCain Spoiler?

Heh, heh. The shoe's on the other foot now, isn't it? My hope is, if Bob Barr has enough oomph to drain votes from John McCain, that Barack Obama still manages to get more than 50% of the vote. Even though The Decider didn't even win the popular vote in 2000, conservatives are still squawking about Bill Clinton getting less than 50%. The spoiler that time was Ross Perot. What ever happened to that crazy old guy?

I've got to say that while reducing McCain's chances is in the "pro" column, I'm not a fan of these third-party guys. It'd be different if they worked--in the off years--to grow their party into something viable. But, no, they just jump in every four years to vie for the ultimate job. It's a cheat.

Third Party Run for Ron Paul?

This would be very good news for Democrats. In the last two elections, Ralph Nader ran on a third-party ticket, and Democrats have long suspected that he was instrumental in getting George W. Bush "selected." Of course you have to factor in vote-rigging and the Supreme Court handing the Presidency to W.

That said, Ron Paul may syphon off some Democratic votes, but would be likely to take even more Republican ones. Go for it, Ron!
