John Boner Boehner Becomes Speaker of the House

It finally happened. The weeping orange boner got the gavel. And what a gavel! Agent Orange picked the biggest hammer this side of The Mighty Thor's for his desk. While I think that Boehner's reign as Speaker is bound to be both disasterous and entertaining, I hope for one thing. That somebody besides me starts to notice his bizarre mouth twitch thing, and comments on it. That and a determination whether or not the man is actually sauced all the time, or just seems like he is.

John Boner Boehner on This Week

I left the TV running this morning, and This Week with George Snuffleupagus came on at 10 am. This is sort of unusual here in Las Vegas where almost anything can pre-empt the show, and exile it to late afternoon.

I don't have a lot to say about today's program, other than leading Republican John Boehner is a very, very odd man. Watch this video to see what I mean. He's like a talking-point robot, with very strange facial expressions, and a disturbing mouth twitch. I didn't realize until now just how good Dan Aykroyd's impression of him a few weeks ago on Saturday Night Live was. Except Aykroyd wasn't orange enough.
