Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be succeeded by former presidential candidate John Kerry! How 'bout that, the Senate can get something done. Then again, Kerry is one of their own, and he's replacing Clinton--who many of them battled just last week. Still, it says something about the quality of recent Democratic presidential candidates, doesn't it? Oh, and John Edwards doesn't count, he didn't get very far (whew!). . .

Awesome State Department Smack Down of FOX "News"

You know me, I love just about any skewering of FOX "News," so much that I use quotes around the second word wherever possible. But how often toes a smack down this thorough, this snarky, this elegantly worded, and this authoritative happen? It's a thing of beauty.

I just called them and read them the riot act for putting such misleading, accusatory, and absolutely asinine words in your mouth. Because after what we and her doctors explained over the weekend regarding her health, you couldn’t possibly have been insinuating the ulterior motives that question implies. No way. No credible journalist would do that without any basis whatsoever. . .”

Obama, McCain & Clinton's Passports All Viewed

As expected, the passport scandal has grown, but what it all means still eludes me. The fact that all three of the candidates still in the race, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain have all had their passport files improperly accessed just confuses the matter. It shows that Barack Obama wasn't singled out. . .or. . .this is a nice cover story to make it look that way.

But if all three sets of records were being pilfered, is that better? Worse? It certainly shows that it doesn't matter who you are, the Bush Administration is looking over your shoulder, under your bed, in your closet, and probably watching you shower.

Passport firms' CEOs donated to Lieberman, Clinton and Obama

Contracting firms identified as Stanley, Inc. and The Analysis Corp., both of Virginia

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Friday apologized to Sen. Barack Obama for a security breach in which three State Department contractors inappropriately reviewed the Democratic presidential candidate's passport file.

CNN also reports, "Hillary Clinton's passport file was breached in 2007, Secretary of State Rice told Clinton, according to the senator's office. . ."
