Mitt Romney Delivers (Funny) Speech at Alfred E. Smith Dinner

Lest you think I'm incapable of saying something nice about Mitt Romney, here is evidence to the contrary. Mitt's jokes were funny at the Alfred E. Smith dinner. His target throughout was nearly exclusively Barack Obama, but there were a couple of digs at himself. Overall, a good performance, though he really doesn't look like he's enjoying himself much, does he?

President Obama's (Funny) Speech at the Alfred E. Smith Dinner

The Prez is a funny guy. He seems very comfortable in this sort of venue, and delivers jokes fairly well.  The contrast between him and--say--President George W. Bush is dramatic. I never feel embarrassed for him, or myself. Great job.

Barack Obama Roasts John McCain

Here is Barack Obama's response to John McCain's comedy act at the Alfred E. Smith dinner. He was pretty funny too, and gets in a dig at FOX "News," more relevant given McCain's digs at MSNBC. Everyone will be talking about these two bits, as they were much more entertaining than any of the debates!

John McCain Being Funny on Purpose

John McCain, it turns out, can be funny without scowling, and grinning maniacally. Performing shtick at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, McCain did a really good--and funny--job. The roast like vibe takes the edge off the jokes, though I'm not sure that Keith Olbermann will feel the same way. Barack Obama's bit was next, and I'll feature that in the next post.
