After Casting Key Fifth Vote For Bush, Justice O’Connor Now Regrets Bush v. Gore

Looking back, O’Connor said, she isn’t sure the high court should have taken [Bush v. Gore].
“It took the case and decided it at a time when it was still a big election issue,” O’Connor said during a talk Friday with the Tribune editorial board. “Maybe the court should have said, ‘We’re not going to take it, goodbye. . .’”

Coleman v. Franken the Next Bush v. Gore?

Oh, brother. Do you remember back in 2000, when the Supreme Court sorta-kinda gave George W. Bush the Presidency, in an unprecedented decision? How could you forget. But do you remember that the precedent then set was not supposed to be used in future decisions? I seem to remember something about that.

Norm Coleman, the now ex-Senator of Minnesota seems to be planning to use Bush v. Gore as precedent anyway. Because, really, he has nothing left. And he apparently wants to stall for as long as he can, to keep Al Franken out of the Senate. Because he'd rather play politics than do what's best for Minnesota or the country. And it has always been thus.
