President Obama (Fred Armisen) scolds "son," Joe Biden (Jason Sudeikis) for his premature announcement approving of same-sex marriage. But he gets some sympathy from his imaginary friend, "George."

In Case You Missed It: SNL's Cosby/Obama Show
I forgot to post this skit from the Maya Rudolph-hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend. It's pretty high-concept, merging the Obamas and the Cosbys. But kudos to Fred Armisen for the effort!

SNL: President Obama and the Census
This, apparently, is what the census might look like if you are a teabagger and/or Michele Bachmann. It's pretty funny, and I think Fred Armisen is getting better as Obama. A much better-than-average Saturday Night Live (but still flat in places).

SNL Weekend Update Thurs.: Obama on TV
This is a reasonably humerous clip, poking fun of President Obama's big media tour last weekend. I was happy to see that they pointed out and defended Obama's choice to exclude the odeous FOX "News." Enjoy.

Saturday Night Live Commercial Parody: Edible Diapers
This weekend's Saturday Night Live, with Steve Martin as host (for the 15th time), was mostly a disappointment. The opening, featuring Fred Armisen's Barack Obama and Jason Sudekis' Joe Biden wasn't terribly funny. The Obama impression is dead-on, but not very humorous, and the Biden bears little resemblance to the real article.
Other sketches veered between lame, bad, or mildly entertaining. And as funny as Kristin Wiig is, you can't just put her into any quirky character and expect the magic to happen. Still, there was a funny--if gross-out--commercial parody, for ecologically friendly Chewable Pampers edible diapers. Here it is, followed by the Obama sketch. Enjoy.

New York Governor Paterson Angry over SNL Skit?
I kind of wondered if a skit about a blind Mayor would cause anyone to wig out. And since I don't know any blind people, I have no idea how sensitive they are to comedic ribbing. Either way, Fred Armisen's impression was hysterically funny, and one of the better portions of this weekend's Saturday Night Live.
[Excerpt]
PATERSON IN A BLIND RAGE OVER 'SNL' SKIT
Gov. Paterson didn't see the humor in a "Saturday Night Live" bit that mocked his blindness.
During the "Weekend Update" segment of NBC's irreverent comedy show, actor Fred Armisen played Paterson, imitating his wandering eye, gravelly voice and blunt, self-effacing demeanor. . .

Saturday Night Live: Obama Plays it Cool
Yeah, it's my second Saturday Night Live post of the day. But Sunday blogging is hard work, and do you really care what they were talking about on the Sunday morning political shows? If you didn't see them today, you. Missed. Nothing.
So, enjoy this silly clip about our new cool-cat President-elect, mmmkay?

One More SNL Video: Nicholas Fehn
Do you know anybody who can talk, and talk, and never really say anything? This Saturday Night Live character by Fred Armisen is the embodiment of that friend. Do you, have you ever. . .this morning. . .as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. . .in your heart of hearts. . .at the most. . .at the very least, you know this person!
And I swear, tomorrow I'll find some news, some political news. . .some relevant news besides entertaining clips for you. For now, enjoy Nicholas Fehn.
