Bummer: White House Says No Contact with Aliens Yet

Actually, they really ought to take a look at Ron
Paul's DNA, just to be sure. Image from Raw Story
Well, they aren't admitting we've made contact anyway. Could we ever expect them to?

[Excerpt]

White House: No contact yet from E.T.

In a galaxy, far, far away, there is a mathematical chance that alien life exists — but the White House says it has no evidence that extraterrestrials have ever tried to contact humans.

In a blow to conspiracy theorists everywhere, a senior Barack Obama administration official also says there is also no credible information to suggest evidence of alien life is being kept from the public. . .

Science is Cool: Water on Mars!

Image from source, MSNBC

Now if they'd only find some Martians!

[Excerpt]

The Phoenix spacecraft has tasted Martian water for the first time, scientists reported Thursday.

By melting icy soil in one of its lab instruments, the robot confirmed the presence of frozen water lurking below the Martian permafrost. Until now, evidence of ice in Mars' north pole region has been largely circumstantial. . .

Astronaut Claims Alien Cover-Up?

Image from BuddyTV

Wow. Aliens. Really? Cool. Let's hope they're the friendly E.T. type, or even the American Dad Roger type, and not--ohhhh--War of the Worlds.

[Excerpt]

Moon-walker claims alien contact cover-up

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.

And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades. Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us. . .'

Science is Cool: Does Earth Have a Twin?

Image from source, Space.com

This story was brought to my attention by Stupid Monkey Planet, who knows my affinity for space stories, and the tantalizing prospect that there may be intelligent life somewhere in the universe. Notice I don't include humans as "intelligent life." That's on purpose. As is the Mokey's moniker.

Anyway, I hope on this other Earth, my doppelgänger is a little thinner and doesn't have a double-chin. Oh, and lots and lots of money. And a President Gore! So many wishes. . .

[Excerpt]

Astronomers on Verge of Finding Earth's Twin

Planet hunters say it's just a matter of time before they lasso Earth's twin, which almost surely is hiding somewhere in our star-studded galaxy.

Momentum is building: Just last week, astronomers announced they had discovered three super-Earths. . .

Ann Coulter: Plan 10 from Outer Space?

Guest posted by Stupid Monkey Planet

For a change of pace, here's a post by Stupid Monkey Planet, best friend and fill-in editor. Usually, he posts when I'm away, but today he was getting a bit creative. Time to start up that long-simmering blog of your own, isn't it, Monkey?

ANN COULTER: Plan 10 from Outer Space?

Maybe there is something to the theory about this creature being an alien. Note the appendages, hands, wrists and arms in particular. Some strange bone structure, odd joints and an awfully elongated features on it. Alienish. . .at the very least!!!???

My scientific guess is this is a shape shifting alien. . .from the "Rushlim Bag Moon" orbiting Uranus. I believe the stage the alien is now in what could be called a morphing phase. I think that it is doing it's best to imitate or morph into a woman after failing at being a man.

It does appear to be getting better at this shape shifting bit as it goes along. The breasticles appear larger on it lately. . .and sometimes there are less veins in its NBA basketball player-sized phalanges. I think it also possible that it changes shape with emotion when provoked or soothed. Look at the imagery, and judge for yourself.

That's my case. . . If you need anymore proof try this. . . TVLand

If you squint your eyes when you look at this last picture depicted in the series it is easy to see it/her as a man. Too bad for the ladies and gentlemen. . .she might have been a handsome man. . .if it wasn't for the alien shape shifting thing. ~From Da Monkey

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm thinking the aliens might have gotten a little praying mantis or grasshopper in the DNA matrix of this creature.

Science is Cool: Mars Probe on the Ground

Image from source, SFGate

The landing of the Mars Probe on the red planet didn't have the "gee-whiz" impact of the 1969 moon landing, but it's very exciting to science geeks like myself. The probe is on a quest to determine if life ever existed on Mars. Anyone who ever read comic books or watched atomic age movies on basic cable in the 70s is hoping YES! It will also be very amusing to see--should life be discovered--how the major religions rationalize it. Where did the life go? They'll probably say there was a rapture. . .

[Excerpt]

Mars probe on the ground, now it's time for the dirty work

Only a day after the spacecraft Phoenix landed so brilliantly on an icy, pebble-strewn patch of the northern plains of Mars, scientists prepared today to start their three-month search for signs that life-giving water and chemicals were once abundant on the planet long, long ago. . .

Science is Cool: Ocean on Saturn's Moon, Titan?

Image from source, Live Science

I love cool science stories. Mostly, because with our dumbed-down society and our ridiculous political side shows, it's nice to know that there are humans using their brains on this world. New discoveries about our solar system have always interested me, though I was bummed when Pluto got downgraded.

This story (brought to my attention by Stupid Monkey Planet) tells us about all sorts of new discoveries about Saturn's moon, Titan, including the fact that it might have an ocean hospitable to life.

[Excerpt]

Evidence for Ocean Found at Saturn's Moon Titan

An ocean seasoned with the chemical ingredients of life may lie hidden beneath the icy surface of Saturn's moon Titan.

The evidence? The entire surface of Titan appears to be sliding around, scientists say, like cheese over tomato sauce on a slice of pizza. . .

Science is Cool: Life on Mars?

Images from source, Wikipedia

No, it wasn't Marvin the Martian or The Martian Manhunter, but it could have been life just the same. Even if single-celled organisms once existed on Mars, such a discovery would radically alter our perception of uniqueness here on Earth, wouldn't it? My biggest question: how would religion explain it? It could be fun to watch.

Newly Found Martian Salt Deposits Suggest Ancient Life

For the first time, satellite imagery reveals thick Martian salt deposits scattered across the planet's southern surface, which one planetary scientist claims could be sites of ancient life.

The mats of sodium chloride — the same taste-enhancing mineral found on your kitchen table — serve as more evidence of Mars' watery past, and researchers think the briney pools that made them could have been
hospitable to life. . .

Could We All Be From Outer Space?

Photo from source, National Geographic

It's an intriguing notion, and one with many implications for life on Earth, notably as it pertains to religion. I haven't seen the blow back on this story yet, but was amazed to find the story at--of all places--FOX "News," originally. Not wishing to link my readers to such a dubious site, I've instead linked to the source.

Alien Life Can Survive Trip to Earth, Space Test Shows

We could have alien origins, say scientists who sent fossilized microscopic life-forms into space and back inside an artificial meteorite.

The researchers attached the baseball-size rock to the outside of the European Space Agency's Foton M3 spacecraft to test whether biological material could survive the round-trip journey. . .
