Ann Coulter Gets Thrashed by Twitter

Proving that there is literally nothing either the President or First Lady can do that won't inspire outrage, Right Wing World is in a tizzy over a photo of Michelle Obama holding a card that says #BringBackOurGirls. It's part of an awareness campaign over the Nigerian girls who were taken to be sold into slavery. It's a horrible issue, and it's a widespread awareness campaign. But for some reason, Michelle is just awful for having participated. I have no idea why.

Ann Coulter--long past her sell-by date, but apparently unaware of that fact--still thinks she's relevant, apparently, and decided to join in on the "whack-the first lady" game that was going on, and took a parody selfie with a sign that said "BringBackOurCountry." Since Coulter herself is a horrible person, the Twitterverse reacted with wit and bite. And though Coultergeist thrives on attention, any attention, it's still fun to see her get a drubbing.

Twitter Trolls the Hell Out of Ann Coulter’s Attempt at Hashtag Activism

This is what happens when Ann Coulter tries to mock hashtag activism on Twitter. On Sunday night, Coulter decided to take what appears to be a shot at First Lady Michelle Obama by posting an photo of herself holding a sign with the hashtag #BringBackOurCountry (instead of #BringBackOurGirls, which the first lady recently posted in support of the kidnapped schoolgirls in Nigeria). . .

Over Time with Bill Maher, November 1, 2013

Ann Coulter crawled out of her crypt to appear on Real Time with Bill Maher this past weekend. The rest of the panel were of a more leftward cant, fortunately. I'm sure she'll say that it took five liberals to balance her right-wing power out, or something. Even so, she doesn't turn up in the web-only portion of the show. I'd love to know if that was her idea or Bill's.

Facepalm: Ann Coulter's Islamophobia and Racism

UPDATE: I should have stopped with the first piece, as it would seem that the second here is originally from The Daily Currant, which is a parody site that is very, very good at writing believable stories. The source was obscured, and I missed it. Totally my bad, but it should be acknowledged that it is also entirely believable that Ann Coulter would say such a thing. Apologies. The first piece? Totally true.

Ann Coulter to Hannity: Putin Is Making a ‘Monkey’ Out of Obama on Syria

Ann Coulter joined Sean Hannity on Monday night to bash President Obama for a failure of leadership on Syria. Hannity called Obama “confused” and “wimpy,” while Coulter derided the White House for thinking this is a simple Aaron Sorkin monologue away from being solved, adding that she believes Vladimir Putin has made Obama into a “monkey” on Syria. . .

Ann Coulter On Syria: ‘Why is Gassing Arabs a Bad Thing?’

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter generated fierce criticism today for suggesting that the gas attack in Syria last month was good for the United States. In an interview with Fox and Friends this morning, she argued that since the victims were Arabs such attacks would reduce the number of future terrorists and that therefore president Obama shouldn't intervene to stop them. . .

FOX "News" Doesn't Understand Context: Maddow, Scalia, Stewart and Trolls

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Troll,
Photographed on (naturally) FOX "News"
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, when interviewed by the host of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart called Justice Antonin Scalia a "troll."

Oh, the faux outrage! Oh, the faux FOX outrage!

Anyone who watches The Rachel Maddow Show would not only understand her usage of the word, but agree with her application of it. For those that don't (and couldn't glean the context from the rest of the conversation), a "troll" is an internet term for a person who trolls the comments section of blogs, newspapers, Facebook, Twitter, you name it, with the aim of stirring up shit. They say outrageous things, deliberately provocative things, with a main (or sole) objective being to get a rise out of people.  They might be trolling using their own real opinions, they might be trolling using extreme examples to cause the most damage, or they might just be ornery, causing a flame war just for fun, regardless of their real beliefs.

That's what Maddow meant by Scalia being a troll. He was bomb-throwing from the bench, causing a stir, getting some press, making a splash. Maddow believes--and I can't disagree--that Scalia revels in the attention. If you still don't understand what she's saying, think of Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh; it's their entire schtick. Here's a question though: is FOX "News" serious with this article, or are they trolling?

[Excerpt]

Rachel Maddow calls Scalia a 'troll,' like blogger 'using N-word'
Imagine for a moment a Fox News host calling one of the liberal Supreme Court justices such as Sonia Sotomayor a "troll." Liberal heads would explode across the fruited plain including in newsrooms from sea to shining sea. . .

CPAC? More Like L-PAC (The "L" is for Loser!)

This is just some of them. Laugh or cry?

They say it only happens once per year. But it seems more often, doesn't it?

The stars of the annual CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) shindig are always an eye-roller for most liberals, and this year is no exception. Except that one of the previous speakers--Ann Coulter--predicted the doom of the Republican ticket if Mitt Romney was selected, and she was right. And the keynote is going to be given by said Romney. Throw in Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Paul Ryan and Sarah Palin, and you've got Loser-PAC. And that's not even mentioning the State of the Union also-rans Rand Paul and Marco Rubio. Stir in a little infighting this year, and it should all be quite entertaining.

Is Ann Coulter for Real?

Image from Maxim

I am not asking if Ann Coulter is a real woman, or indeed a real human being, though those are good questions. No, I mean is she really concerned about the topics she covers? I always assumed she was kind of a performance artist, plying her schtick on FOX "News" and at conservative events to rake in some bucks. I never for a moment took her seriously, or honestly thought she expected me to. My favorite theory was posited by Janeane Garofalo, who suspects that Coulter is really Andy Kaufman.

But Coulter was really losing her shit on Hannity recently, implying that she actually gives a damn about the crap she spreads! I'm kind of surprised. As well as amused at the state she's found herself in, and that she's displaying it to Sean Hannity, the ultimate stooge-just-doin'-it-for-a-paycheck.

[Excerpt]

Ann Coulter Melts Down on Hannity's Show Over RomneyCare

Ann Coulter is angry. She's so angry even Sean Hannity is ducking for cover. She's so angry she doesn't care who knows she's angry, he doesn't care how loud she gets, and she doesn't care that she looks like a shrieking harpy in this segment, because as angry as Erick Erickson was, as completely flummoxed as Rush Limbaugh was, nothing compares to Ann Coulter in high dudgeon. . .

Ann Coulter Calls John McCain a "Douchebag" on MSNBC

A) Why was Ann Coulter on MSNBC, isn't she a FOX "News" contributor? B) Why does even FOX give this long-in-tooth, skeletal she-beast a platform? C) When somebody does give this androgynous ectomorph a platform, why are they surprised when she is a bitch?

Notable Quotable: Randi Rhodes on Ann Coulter and Black People

"Ann Coulter says “our blacks are better than their blacks.” I don’t think so. And if it seems that way, it’s only because Republicans have so few blacks that they can lavish extra care and attention on them. It’s true. Take a look at Republican Allen West—every hair in place, all of his clothing immaculately pressed. Then take a look at Cornell West. He always looks like he rode to the interview on the roof of the car. So yes, their blacks might win the evening gown competition. But when it comes down to the part where they have to answer questions, our blacks come out on top."

Chris Christie Endorses Mitt Romney

Oddly, I named this photo "ChristieRomney," but it is
some of the religious right wondering if Romney
is "Christ-ie" enough.
This seems kind of odd, or at least a little early to me. But it's kind of funny. Ann Coulter once said, “If we don’t run Chris Christie, Romney will be the nominee and we’ll lose.” (Source)

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced his endorsement of Mitt Romney on Tuesday, calling it an "easy decision" to back the former Massachusetts governor's presidential campaign. . .

Ann Coulter Made Honorary Chair of GOProud

Imagine what her lady-parts
look like. . .
I have said here before that as a gay person myself, I am at an utter loss to explain gay conservatives. And since GOProud (and local Nevada chapter Right Pride) split off from the Log Cabin Republicans, my understanding of them has disintegrated further (though what's left of Log Cabin now seems to make more sense). I also have a deep loathing for the Ann Coulter persona.*

But none of that is important right now. I am posting this piece chiefly because of the nauseatingly brilliant accompanying artwork. I know that my friend and fill-in writer, Stupid Monkey Planet, will really dig it. Thanks for running the blog, Monkey!

We Agree With GOProud: Ann Coulter Is A Gay Icon!

GOProud has just asked horrible person Ann Coulter to serve as Honorary Chair of GOProud’s Advisory Council and has titled her position “Gay Icon”. There’s no better person to chair GOProud! After all, Coulter isa gay icon…

*I say that I loathe the Ann Coulter persona, because I don't believe for a minute that the creature we know as Ann Coulter is a real person. She may well be a decent person in "real life." Or she could be something entirely other than human, which is--I believe--Stupid Monkey Planet's theory.

Ann Coulter Blathers About "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal

I really don't care about much that Ann Coulter says. And based upon the last several months of news cycles, I must not be alone. When's the last time a Coultergasm caused waves in the news? Girlfriend's act is as tired and old as her little black cocktail dress. So, why am I posting a link to a story about Ann Coulter, and her lunatic ravings about the repeal of DADT? Because the attached picture is creepy and/or hilarious. That is all.

Ann Coulter Engages In “Utterly Ridiculous” Duel With Red Eye’s Andy Levy Over DADT

On Fox News Channel’s Red Eye, Ann Coulter unleashed a fury of controversial comments in response to the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell military policy. However, whether one finds her thoughts offensive or funny depends entirely on one’s own view of Coulter’s role in political discourse. For those who take her every word seriously, you probably will be justified in being upset with her comments. . .

A Good Old-Fashioned Book Burning!

On my Facebook page, I asked this simple question:

"Question for everybody: When is a book burning EVER a good idea?"

I got a variety of answers I hadn't considered.  One of them inspired me to create the image seen here, which warms my heart a little!  The story behind the creation of the image forms the basis of my next post, detailing my experiences with learning PhotoShop on the Mac platform.

State of Shock: Artist Examines Extremist Rhetoric; Where it Could Lead

This is a show I'd very much have liked to see.

State Of Shock: An Artist Examines The Hatred In Media And Politics

. . .Fletcher Crossman, a British artist currently residing in the U.S., has opened an exhibit at the Eye Level Gallery in Charleston, SC, that explores this hostility and projects it out to its darkest conclusions. The pieces include Glenn Beck swinging from a noose over a gloomy New York skyline and Rush Limbaugh feasting on a pile of infant corpses. Interspersed are images of the media portrayal of similarly gruesome events including the assassination of President Obama. The media is not a peripheral addendum to the exhibit, but an integral part of the unfolding message. . .

Ann Coulter Speech Cancelled Due to Protest

Image from Think Progress

What a shame.

[Excerpt]

OTTAWA: Thousands Of Students Protest, Ann Coulter's Speech Canceled

A spokesman for the group that organized the event said there were fears for Coulter’s well-being after about two thousand people gathered outside the venue to protest her presence there. Coulter is a darling of the U.S. right-wing who uses incendiary language to sell millions of books as well as her syndicated column. She sparked more controversy during a speech at University of Western Ontario Monday night when she told a 17-year-old Muslim student to “take a camel” instead of a the flying carpet she has previously suggested Muslims use for transportation. . .

Ann Coulter: Plan 10 From Outer Space

Every once in a while, I feel the need to repost a previous blog post that deserves a little more attention. Blogging and blog readers are fluid and fickle, and worthwhile posts can go by the wayside, unnoticed. So, here is a post, from my dear friend and sometimes relief editor Stupid Monkey Planet on the strange beast that is Ann Coulter.

Guest posted by Stupid Monkey Planet

For a change of pace, here's a post by Stupid Monkey Planet, best friend and fill-in editor. Usually, he posts when I'm away, but today he was getting a bit creative. Time to start up that long-simmering blog of your own, isn't it, Monkey?

ANN COULTER: Plan 10 from Outer Space?

Maybe there is something to the theory about this creature being an alien. Note the appendages, hands, wrists and arms in particular. Some strange bone structure, odd joints and an awfully elongated features on it. Alienish. . .at the very least!!!???

My scientific guess is this is a shape shifting alien. . .from the "Rushlim Bag Moon" orbiting Uranus. I believe the stage the alien is now in what could be called a morphing phase. I think that it is doing it's best to imitate or morph into a woman after failing at being a man.

It does appear to be getting better at this shape shifting bit as it goes along. The breasticles appear larger on it lately. . .and sometimes there are less veins in its NBA basketball player-sized phalanges. I think it also possible that it changes shape with emotion when provoked or soothed. Look at the imagery, and judge for yourself.

That's my case. . . If you need anymore proof try this. . . TVLand

If you squint your eyes when you look at this last picture depicted in the series it is easy to see it/her as a man. Too bad for the ladies and gentlemen. . .she might have been a handsome man. . .if it wasn't for the alien shape shifting thing. ~From Da Monkey

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm thinking the aliens might have gotten a little praying mantis or grasshopper in the DNA matrix of this creature.
