Liz Cheney Proves She's Al Qaeda!
I know that my posts from The Rachel Maddow Show are almost daily lately. If nothing else, if you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that Rachel is nothing like the picture the right paints of her. And this clip is genius. Using Liz Cheney's own "logic," Rachel proves that, dum dum DUM! Cheney is Al Qaeda!

Soldiers "Honored" at Pet Crematorium

I cannot even begin to comment on this story. My comments would be a very dark shade of blue... Fuckers.
Since 2001, the U.S. military has cremated the remains of approximately 200 service members at Friends Forever Pet Cremation Service, a Delaware facility that primarily cremates pets. The practice was stopped yesterday, as the Washington Post reports:... Read more at ThinkProgress.org

Tuesday Night Roundup
They say Tuesday is the slowest day of the week in retail, and it surely was for Greenlee Gazette. But not for its editor! A full day of work, a night out for dinner, and an evening of card playing has severely curtailed my ability to post this evening. But there are a few newsworthy items to pass on, so without further ado. . .
• Our Attorney General was caught in yet another lie (er, ugh, misremembrance or maybe just incompetence. . .let's go with lie). Gonzales Was Told of FBI Violations
• Senator Vitter (R-Of Course) caught in some more potentially compromising positions: GOP Senator Vitter accused of frequenting even more prostitutes in New Orleans
• The Michael Moore vs. CNN story continues to develop: Moore accuses CNN of 'libel'
• Cheney gets a little more comeuppance: Panel moves to cut off funds to Cheney
• And, finally, Clinton, Edwards and Obama agree to participate in historic debate on LGBT issues
I'll try to post a little more before bedtime, but hopefully that is enough to chew on for a while. Good reading!

Cheney of Fools

Photo from Wikipedia
I'm not sure if Americans are yet sitting up and paying attention to what's going on with Dick Cheney right now, but they should. I'm still delving into the story, so don't have a post of my own on the story ready yet, but I'd like you to take a look at a current post on AmericaBlog right now. AmericaBlog has a prominent representation on my blog for a reason. John Aravosis and his contributors are consistently on top of the news that the news doesn't always see fit to print. Here is an excerpt, and a link:
"He is quite literally risking our national secrets during a time of war. These rules exist for a reason, the oversight exists for a reason. People are sloppy, and sometimes they're even evil. When you're dealing with classified information, information that can quite literally get someone killed, you need several layers of protection to ensure that the information doesn't slip out, by intent or neglect." Random Thoughts. . .

Just some scattered thoughts tonight. But lots of links for you to click.
First up, Darth Cheney seems to be finally getting some scrutiny in the press. In addition to trying to eliminate the government agency that was supposed to oversee him, he seems to think the Vice Presidency is not part of the Executive Branch. Apparently, Bush is a Unitary Executive!
The Bush Administration may be making moves to close Guantanamo Bay, but may be delaying a decision after the news was leaked. Boo-hoo.
Senator Trent Lott caused an exciting "Republicans Eating Their Own" kerfuffle when he came down on talk radio. The big guns like Rush are speaking out, and the far-right crowd is jumping to the talkers' defense. Fun!
All this "talk radio" stuff is prompting a closer examination by progressives too. Think Progress has this great story, REPORT: The Right Wing Domination Of Talk Radio And How To End It. And since this issue always raises all sorts of speculation about the resurrection of The Fairness Doctrine, this great story debunking the myths: The ‘Fairness Doctrine’ Myth.
And finally, a very interesting story about the biological underpinnings of sexuality, The Science of Gaydar. It's lighthearted, but quite comprehensive and scientific. Enjoy!
