Does Anybody Really Know What Crime it is? (Another Rocky Mountain Mike Song Parody)

Rocky Mountain Mike's inspiration, maybe?
(See what I did there?)

Now that Hillary Clinton's email "scandal" is behind her, along with Bernie's overdue endorsement and the sputtering out of the most recent Benghazi report, she can finally, finally focus on the national election. But it won't stop the die-hards from sputtering and fuming that the email thing didn't pan out. So, just like Benghazi, they'll probably keep at it, trying to turn it into something. And maybe--as when Ken Starr turned an unrelated investigation of real estate dealings into one about cigars and blowjobs--something will eventually stick.

But don't tell me anyone is actually outraged about emails or servers. Liberals are outraged at a) conservatives who can't drop a bone, and b) Hillary for making such a rookie mistake. Conservatives are only outraged that they couldn't dredge anything up to hang her with. And they've hung Comey up to dry, right next to where the #BernieOrBusters put Bernie himself after his "sellout" to Hillary. But, does anyone really know what the crime is Mrs. Clinton is alleged to have committed? Glad you asked.

Rush Limbaugh Attacks Michelle Obama Over Eulogy

Image from ABC News
I know that Rush Limbaugh is essentially a troll (a drug-addled, impotent troll), who lives for attention. But at some point, is there just no lower he can go? I mean, first you have him feeding his listeners' fathomless hatred for the First Lady, and then he's focusing his wrath on her eulogy for a shooting victim? Really? Is there a point where even his listeners say, "that's too far"? Ever?

In case you haven't noticed, dittoheads, Rush Limbaugh is a revolting pig.

Limbaugh Attacks Michelle Obama Over Her Remarks Expressing Sympathy For Shooting Victim

Rush Limbaugh responded to Michelle Obama's recent speech on gun reform by accusing her of having "a chip on [her] shoulder" about the U.S. and of doing "a disservice to the country."
On Wednesday, Obama delivered a speech in Chicago urging action to combat youth gun violence. In her remarks, Obama spoke of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago high school student who was shot and killed in January, saying that Pendleton reminded her of herself at that age. . .

Rahm Emanuel Mayor of Chicago

Image from AP
I don't really care one way or the other. I wasn't Emanuel's biggest fan when he was in the White House, but this is a very different role. And now, he's too busy to be too involved in national politics.

Rahm Emanuel Wins Chicago Mayoral Race

Rahm Emanuel decisively won Tuesday's mayoral election, becoming the city's 55th mayor.

With 86 percent of the city precincts reporting, Emanuel had 55.63 percent of the vote -- enough to avoid a runoff election. His main rivals were Gery Chico, with 24.52 percent, City Clerk Miguel del Valle, with 9.53 percent, and former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun (D-Ill.) with 8.87 percent. . .

Chicago: The Day After Tomorrow, TODAY!

This picture just blew me away. It was cold here in the Las Vegas desert today, but our temperature span ranged between the twenties and the forties.  I wore a sherpa hoodie today, not even a winter coat! I'd like to say I feel your pain, Chicago (and the rest of the country), but I'd be lying!

Blagojevich Indicted on Multiple Felony Counts

Photo from source, Raw Story

The saga of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is strange in a lot of ways. On of the strangest being that little political hay has been made over the fact that he's a Democrat. After so many years of embarrassing Repbulican scandals, you'd think the GOP wold have been all over this one, tarring the entire Democratic party with a Blago-hair brush.

You have to admit, it's out of character for them to show such restraint. Maybe Blago is such a unique character, the attack just wouldn't play. Or maybe it was just too early after the election for partisan attacks to really stick. Whatever it is, it won't hold. Blago will be remembered as scandal number one, after there are (surely) more Democratic scandals. Being in power will bring out corruption in some of them just as it always does.

John Bolton Jokes About Annihilation of Chicago

Image from source, Mother Jones

What's left of the far right of the Republican Party is throwing its annual shindig in Washington, D.C. right now. It's called the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), and it used to be the hottest ticket in town. It's chock full of humor, mostly of the unintentional variety, like "Joe the Plumber." And there are also the things intended as humor that just aren't funny.

Former UN Abassador (by recess appointment) John Bolten--who once joked about the UN building being blown up--made a joke about Chicago being blown up. The crowd ate it up. Which tell you a little something about the crowd.

This CPAC thing used to sort of freak me out. Every bigwig conservative was there to curry favor, and the overriding message was far, far to the right. To me, it was an embodiment of the normalizing of far-right politics, something that wasn't true, but had quietly taken the place of more moderate views. With Sarah Palin, not-a-plumber Joe, and now Bobby Jindal, the GOP has become more of a punchline than a serious threat. I like it that way.

John Bolton at CPAC: The Benefits of Nuking Chicago

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton believes the security of the United States is at dire risk under the Obama administration. And before a gathering of conservatives in Washington on Thursday morning, he suggested, as something of a joke, that President Barack Obama might learn a needed lesson if Chicago were destroyed by a nuclear bomb. . .

Rod R. Blagojevich Impeached, No Longer Governor

Well, thank goodness that is over. Now, will the ever-bizarre Blagojevich continue to give media interviews, a la Sarah Palin? Or will we be mercifully spared the insane ramblings of at least this politician?

[Excerpt]

Impeached Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been removed from office

The Illinois Senate voted to remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office Thursday, marking the first time in the state's long history of political corruption that a chief executive has been impeached and convicted. . .

Are Aliens Cubs Fans? UFO Over O'Hare

I heard about this story back when it happened, and filed it under "we'll never hear about that again." I'm pleasantly surprised to hear an update, and a really novel way to get officials to investigate, without having to say they're investigating a UFO!

UFO Over O’Hare Airport: New Report

The National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena (NARCAP), based in Vallejo, California, has investigated that November 7 incident allegedly involving an unidentified aerial object that violated controlled airspace at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
