Samantha Bee Leaves The Daily Show

While it's more than a little upsetting that Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show, it's nearly as bad that many of the long-time correspondents are leaving as well. Following her husband, fellow "reporter" Jason Jones, Samantha Bee has now officially gone. And she may have been one of the strongest spices in the Daily Show stew. The clip retrospective used on Thursday night's show proves just how powerful (and powerfully funny) she was.

Daily Show's Samantha Bee Mocks Grover Norquist

I love Sam Bee (and her chubby hubby, Jason Jones). And I'm flat-out amazed that someone as allegedly "important" as Grover Norquist would sit for an interview with her. But Sam takes her usual mockery to a whole 'nother level! Grover really is just a nerdy middle schooler who never grew up, and is stuck on his one "big idea." I don't usually post two things from the same source in a row, but this is too good not to share.

I meant to post this one sooner. It's from Wednesday night's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Jason Jones interviews a massive douche nozzle named Scott Lively, who states emphatically that Adolph Hitler (and apparently all the Nazis) were gay. And that is why we can't have gays in the military!  The clip is classic, Jones is terrific, and former Lt. Dan Choi makes an appearance.

The Daily Show Roasts the Pundit Class

If there is one group of humans that deserves to be taken down a peg or two, it's pundits. Who are these people? What makes them so special. Occasionally, the pundit you're watching is a highly educated person, an expert in his or her field. More often, they're just a semi-familiar face, somebody who can jibber jabber on any subject, and sound like they've said something.

FOX "News" has a whole stable of them, and will trot them out for any subject, whether the pundit knows anything about it or not. Why else would Ann Coulter show up on so many of their shows on such a wide variety of topics. She's a lawyer. What does she know about business, gay rights, or "B. Hussein Obama?" Worse, there is no punishment for a pundit if he or she is wrong. Repeatedly. Even all the time, if the pundit in question is Bill Kristol.
