It now goes without saying that my Sunday Blast from the Past post is dedicated to Whitney Houston. I was never her biggest fan, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that many of her songs have been part of the soundtrack of my life. I remember Saving All My Love for You being used on an episode of Ricky Schroder's Silver Spoons, and being censored. They changed "making love the whole night through," to "holding each other the whole night through." Dumb, but it was a kid's show.
Anyway, Whitney played in the background for my whole 20s, and though I never owned one of her albums, I know the words to countless songs. My favorite wasn't even a hit: her duet with Aretha Franklin, It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be.
There are more, but those are the ones that played behind my early adult years. Your life's soundtrack might be a bit different. You have to admit, she was quite a talent, back in the day. RIP, Whitney.

And here's my favorite. It doesn't have a video, but doesn't it sound like she's having fun?
