Working Again!

Sorry folks. In anticipation of a short little vacation, I had a work night. Not sure that much if any blogging will get done til sometime Wednesday. And that's packing day! So, I'll see you all when I see you.

What if Your Boss Forgot You?

Sooo. . .I went to work today. Unlocked the shop, turned the alarm off and the lights on. I clocked in as usual, and made a pot of coffee. Went upstairs, opened blinds, turned on computers and fired up my programs. I went through 285 emails, and 125 spams (you have to check them). I sorted the mail, and the faxes. And then I realized. . .I'm the only one here! It was about 8:30, so it isn't unprecedented. If there is a crash on the freeway, two of the people could be late. The two bosses are often either otherwise occupied in the morning, or just late arrivals. As the minutes ticked by, however, it became odd. So, I called one boss, and the call went straight to voicemail. I called the other boss--same thing. I called her at home, and whattaya know? We're off today!!! Surprise!!!

So, I'm home. Without pay. But, I got in two hours I wouldn't have gotten otherwise, and I'm up and at them earlier than I would be if I knew today was a day off. If I'd known, I'd surely still be in my pjs, sipping coffee. Now, what do I do with my day?

Busy Sunday

Blogging time has been slight today, as I put in yet another weekend cleaning, moving and rearranging things. My abandoned little old office has been slowly transitioning into a tiny new guest room. The Other Half painted it on Thursday, I steam-cleaned the carpet on Saturday (twice) and Sunday (once). And while I had the thing rented, I steam-cleaned the other two rooms in the house with carpet.

But it doesn't end there! After returning the steamer, I got it in my head to refurnish the room myself. And so I did. Not so hard, really, just tiring. And the room is on the smallish side--the better to discourage long-term visitors! It came together fairly well, though it still needs accents, and the window treatment is temporary. The Other Half will no doubt want to add things of his own (and will also probably scold me for moving stuff myself!).

And tonight, 24 returns, and is on at the same time as two of my other favorite shows, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. So, blogging may be lighter than usual. 'Cause I'm pooped! And I gots to watch my stories. . .
