Oh, this is cute. In my email box, I just received a "bigotry map" from the American Family Association. At first, I thought the AFA was pointing out their own calendar of events, since they exist--as do many of these "Family™" organizations--primarily to foist their own bigotry onto others. But when they're not doing that, they are playing up each and every odd occurrence in the country that could be spun to appear contrary to evangelical Christianity. By "spun," I mean that even those random events they find and try to present as a pattern, are often just ginned up as money-begs for the AFA, its affiliates and its contemporaries.
We are a very religious country, but a peculiar one. Because much of our visible religiosity takes this form, this knee-jerk, hyper-sensitive (while simultaneously complaining about the sensitivity of others), martyr complex, money-drenched, professionally and perpetually offended network of "crazy Christians." I'd wager that any real animosity toward religion in general and Christianity in particular by people in America is actually in response to these extraordinarily irritating Family groups. Seriously. And if they're feeling dumped upon by "bigots?" Well, turnabout is fair play.
[From their press release]
Anti-Christian Bigotry Groups
The American Family Association has identified groups and organizations that openly display bigotry toward the Christian faith. These groups are deeply intolerant towards the Christian religion. Their objectives are to silence Christians and to remove all public displays of Christian heritage and faith in America.

What's Patricia Arquette going to do when she's wrapped in a Burka up to her eyeballs? Demand equal pay? Lol I'm sure she can convince those in our country that want Sharia Law to reason (lol) with her. If we were just nicer to the terrorists- they'd all put down their weapons and play nice. They'll suddenly start treating their women w/ respect instead of gang raping them. And they'll embrace the LGBT community with open arms, not a noose around their neck! You people are so preposterous!! Christians aren't killing gays or treating women like yesterday's trash! Where is the outrage?! Where is NOW?!! Some Islamic countries devalue women so much they don't even acknowledge their births w/ birth certificates!! Have you researched any of that?!! No! The LGBT community claims Christians are intolerant-they need to look in the mirror! Instead of shutting down a business through their lawsuits because someone won't bake them a cake for their gay wedding, why don't they go somewhere else?! Because they're spiteful and vindictive? I guess so. No freedom of speech anymore in this country. So, soon when this country is taken over YOU won't have freedom of speech either. God will not be mocked and is about to shake everything that will be shaken! Watch out Neil Patrick Harris running around in your underwear! Have you no shame?! This country sinks further into depravity every day. Just as the Bible says- good will be called evil and evil will be called good. 60 millions babies murdered, US in the lead exporter of porn, gays mock marriage... God will not be mocked! Wake up and give your life to Jesus while there's still time!
ReplyDeleteFeel better? Jesus, Anonymous (there's some real courage there), where did that venomous screed come from? Patricia Arquette? Burkas? Islamic countries? NPH? Abortion?Sharia Law? Whatta nutbar.
ReplyDeleteListen Annie, you can't be against "Sharia Law," and at the same time expect your own religious beliefs codified into law. You can't expect businesses to get religious exemptions to civil rights protections. And why you'd WANT to make a central tenet of your religion the right to DISCRIMINATE without ramifications is beyond me. Regardless, a civil marriage is NOT in a church, and is NOT against a business person's religion anymore than a building permit or business license is.
I will mock god and gods to my heart's content. It is my right as an American. Take your crazy somewhere else, please.
I'm sure you will- Good luck, God has given you over to your reprobate mind: Romans 1:27: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was met. Romans 28: and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind.
ReplyDeleteFeel better? You shouldn't. I'm done- no more casting pearls to swine- but I'll pray for you James...a Biblical name. Interesting.
Oh, good. You like a book. Let me know when you are able to prove one word of it true. Me, I'll give it exactly as much worry as I do any other religious text. Zero. Same as you, I just include one more book.
