Irony Alert: Jesus Destroyed by Act of God

If this story doesn't strike your funny bone, you take religion way too seriously.  First, the "Touchdown Jesus" statue was hideous, and placed right by a freeway where people could scarcely avoid it. Second, there seems to have been complete surprise that the steel beams going through Jebus' outstretched arms might act as lightning rods. Third, the thing went up in flames like a cheap house trailer, showing that it was made with the foresight of a BP oil drilling team.  And they say they're building another one. Near Xenia, Ohio. I have this vision of a tornado touching down on Touchdown Jesus, and sending Him on a rampage through rural Ohio.

Shocking Flight: Airplane Struck by Lightning

Nobody wants to be on a flight that experiences problems. Even seasoned travelers sometimes have to steady their nerves on takeoff, or distract themselves in some way until they reach their comfort zone. But here's an event that you just don't anticipate. . .

Terror at 10,000ft as lightning strikes jet en route to Gatwick

British holidaymakers spoke of their terror last night after their plane was forced to make an emergency landing when it was struck by lightning.

Passengers on board the Continental Airlines Boeing 757 bound for Gatwick described a "huge explosion" shortly after taking off from Newark airport, just outside New York.

With memories still fresh of the Heathrow crash just three weeks ago, many began screaming as a burning smell began to fill the cabin. . .
