The Big Donald Trump/Newsmax Debate Cancelled

Now, why shouldn't we take this elegant man seriously?
Well, it's not like you couldn't see this coming. It was a ridiculous notion in the first place. And I'm not just talking about the oafish Donald Trump, but the odious Newsmax. I mean, why not a World Net Daily or a FreeRepublic.com debate? Good grief.

The fun part has been watching it devolve. The Donald is far too arrogant and self-important to just own up to the fact that it wasn't happening. No, he had to slowly downgrade it, while maintaining that those who wouldn't attend were cowards. It was kind of the white-mogul version of Herman Cain's "lie first, change story later" routine. But thank you, Mr. Trump, for proving that even this clown show could get even more ludicrous.

[Excerpt]

Trump debate appearance canceled

This just in: Donald Trump has bowed out of moderating the Newsmax debate in Iowa later, announcing his decision in a statement saying he will not give up the option of running for president as an independent. . .

Obama Didn't Land on an Aircraft Carrier in a Flight Suit

If you have listened to right-wing talk radio this week, or watched FOX "News" you have heard a lot of talk about President Barack Obama's demeanor after Operation: Dead Osama. He says "I" too much. He's arrogant. He acts like he did it all! Because, as you know, Presidents rarely take credit for the good things that are going on in the country. It's unheard of.
"I'm the decider!"

Premature announciation.

But here's what Barack Obama didn't do: He didn't land a jet plane on an aircraft carrier. He didn't wear a flight suit and codpiece. He didn't swagger across the deck. He didn't have the aircraft carrier positioned so that it looked like it was out to sea rather than coming in to port. He didn't have color-coded service members arranged artfully behind him. He didn't stand under a professionally-printed banner that proclaimed "Mission Accomplished!" And he doesn't have a collectible doll action figure of his carefully orchestrated publicity stunt available at Toys "R" Us or on Amazon.com.
"I'm the commander guy, yes sir!"

Perspective, people.

Lonovo ThinkPad Ad Parodies Mac Air

We've all seen the Mac Air notebook computer ad, with the super-skinny computer being inserted into an inter-office mail envelope. Why you'd want to do that isn't discussed, but it's a nifty image. And the ad's theme song, New Soul by Yael Naim, is an earwig that you can't dig out of your head.

But as a MacPhobe, I'm more than a little irritated by the "cooler than you" feel of Apple's advertising as well as their products. There seems to be an inescapable arrogance to the Cult of Mac. So what a relief it is to see the above mentioned ad parodied--not by some random YouTuber--but by a company in competition with Apple.

Lenovo shows us the limitations of the Mac Air--limitations its computer overcomes. If Lenovo doesn't sound familiar, their ThinkPad computer should. It used to be produced by IBM. Enjoy.
