Emperor Trump Has No Clothes

It's a tremendous likeness. Tremendous likeness. Tremendous.

Parts of it are huge. Other parts not so much, that I can tell you.

This Naked Donald Trump Statue Cannot Be Unseen

Warning: Images in this post feature graphic depictions of male nudity.

You may feel like you’ve already seen and heard enough of Donald Trump these past few months to last a vampire’s eternal lifetime. . .

Jim DeMint Against Gay Teachers. And Straight Ones!

Image from source, TPM Muckraker
Okay, I'm pretty sure I have this nutty political season figured out. Andy Kaufman isn't dead. As rumored, he really did fake his own death, and has over many years engineered the rise of the Tea Party, and all the wackadoodles who are either in it, or are pandering to them.  It's a brilliant work of art! Janeane Garofalo has a theory that Andy Kaufman's current guise is as Ann Coulter. She might not be far off!

But back to Jim DeMint. Now, he's not super-crazy attacking the idea of gay teachers. It's fairly retro, but the anti-gay element of the current crop of conservatives is still going strong. But suggesting that single mothers shouldn't teach?  That's just nuts.  And what about the single fathers?  Shouldn't you go after them too?  Andy, did you hear about this one. . .?

DeMint: Sexually Active Unmarried Women And Gay Teachers Should Be Barred From Classrooms

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) says that even though "no one" came to his defense in 2004 after he said that gay people and unwed mothers should be banned from teaching, "everyone" quietly told him that he shouldn't back down from his position. . .

Life is Stranger Than Fiction: Large Sinkhole in Guatemala City

Image from source, New York Daily News

Thanks to my sister for sending this link along. You'd be forgiven for mistaking this for the work of chalk artist, Julian Beever. But it's real! Thanks, Jen!

The coolness of the photo is offset by the likely loss of life, which really, really sucks (lest you think I'm completely heartless).

Massive sinkhole swallows building in Guatemala City in wake of Tropical Storm Agatha

As Guatemala emerged from the downpours of Tropical Storm Agatha, it was struck by another natural disaster - a massive sinkhole that swallowed an entire building. . .

State of Shock: Artist Examines Extremist Rhetoric; Where it Could Lead

This is a show I'd very much have liked to see.

State Of Shock: An Artist Examines The Hatred In Media And Politics

. . .Fletcher Crossman, a British artist currently residing in the U.S., has opened an exhibit at the Eye Level Gallery in Charleston, SC, that explores this hostility and projects it out to its darkest conclusions. The pieces include Glenn Beck swinging from a noose over a gloomy New York skyline and Rush Limbaugh feasting on a pile of infant corpses. Interspersed are images of the media portrayal of similarly gruesome events including the assassination of President Obama. The media is not a peripheral addendum to the exhibit, but an integral part of the unfolding message. . .

Oh No He Didn't! Artist Sculpts Oprah

Photo from source, D-Listed

Wow. After my first look at this, all I could think of was MadTV's Debra Wilson, as Oprah on a rampage! I can't imagine O is particularly flattered by this.

Oprah In Gold

Sculptor Daniel Edwards is responsible for the Britney Spears giving birth statue and the dead Paris Hilton one. He tackles Oprah for his latest work. He calls it "The Oprah Sarcophagus." He said that he is paying homage to the closest thing America has to a living deity. . .

FOX "News" Hates Bush Mugshot Exhibit

Image from source, Raw Story

Wait, FOX "News" is upset about an exhibit of photos featuring that rogue's gallery, the Bush Administration in faux mug shots? Well boo-frickin'-hoo, I love it! It's a window into a possible future, or even confirmation of a weird feeling I get that we are in an alternate universe, and in the real world this is what happened! Hey, a guy can dream.

Anyway, what's it to FOX? Aren't they fair and balanced or something?

Fox: Library's White House mug shots might confuse little kids

When the Daily News reported on an exhibit at the New York Public Library of photos of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Condoleezza Rice doctored to look like prison mug shots, it touched only lightly on the artistic purposes of the display and appeared to be deliberately aiming to stir up political controversy. . .
