Flash Mob at NYSE: David Naughton, Still A Pepper!

As far as flash mobs go, this one is a little underwhelming. But I do have a soft spot for David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), the original "Dr. Pepper Guy." And I'm something of a Diet Pepper myself. So what the hey. . .

While I'm on a belated posting day (and a frivolity-laden one as well), why not? Some of these flash mob thingies are pretty cool. Though they're not quite as surprising as they used to be.

The Hills Are Alive! A Viral Sound of Music Prank

We've seen staged events like this in the US from Improv Everywhere, but this one from Antwerp, Belgium tops them all. Do, Re, Mi from the classic Julie Andrews movie, The Sound of Music is put to good effect by an army of moppets to an unsuspecting travellers at a train station. Brilliant!

Improv Everywhere: Best Funeral Ever

So what if it's inappropriate, it's clever and weird. That's enough to entertain me. In fact, this would be a cool business to start up. "Rent-a-Funeral," hired mourners for people with few friends. It could work!

I love practical jokes, as long as they aren't mean spirited, or making someone the butt of a joke. Improv Everywhere stages pranks in public places, and then records the results. It's absolutely pointless, and a lot of fun.
