Unbelievably bad painting of Jesus with the Constitution from The Good Atheist |
[Excerpt]
Low tax rates. Profits for so-called "job creators." Spending cuts. The three things that conservatives say are most necessary for achieving a healthy economy are all occurring at historic levels. If conservatives were right, there could be no way that the economic situation could be this bad on either side of the pond. But it is, and that leads to one inescapable logical conclusion: conservative economic policies are not good for job creation or the overall economy. Source: DailyKos
So, why does that make it a religion? Because if you believe something without evidence--or even with contrary evidence--what do you call it? It sounds like a religion to me.
While extreme conservatism may not work, the liberal way, under Obama certainly is certainly not working.
ReplyDeleteYes, there has to be taxes, but there also has to be cuts in the Federal budget as well, and that includes the mlitary.
But all the politicians have their pet pigs they cannot cut and that is where the problem lies. Politicans are greedy little bastards qand they all play the game- I'll vote fr your pig project and you will vote for my pet pig project.
And no, most conservatives don't want to kill little old ladies and send children to the gulags.
Maybe the problem is your party zoomed past you to the hard right fringe. They are indeed trying to roll back child labor laws, and making Medicare an inadequate voucher system.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there should be some major military cuts. If I was in charge, I'd leave the entire middle east to their own devices, excepting some intelligence sources.
As for Obama's policies not working, it is because he was far, far too timid. The stimulus should have been much, much bigger, and without any tax cuts. Also, the Bush tax cuts should have expired. That right there would have gone a long way to turning things around.
