I'm sure just about everybody is posting this cutesy video, but given that my little nephew's name is Lux, and isn't a whole lot older than this little guy (Lex), I felt compelled to post it. Well, that, and the need for a little diversity around here after a spate of similar posts. Enjoy.

Frivolity Break: Insane Robot Dance
My sister sent me this video, and at first, I asked myself, "Why did she send this to me?" Then about halfway in, a kid starts half-heartedly dancing. . .and then he turns into a bendy straw. It's a little disturbing, but no doubt entertaining.

Get Active: Why are You a Democrat in 2008?
When I posted Why are You a Republican in 2008, I was unaware that there is a parallel video challenge on YouTube for Democrats. Here is that challenge. Yes, the spokesman, Howard Dean, is also an old white guy. But at least he doesn't have the evangelist/car salesman hairdo the Republican guy is rockin.' And excitement is actually a word that might describe the enthusiasm for the Democratic candidate this year.
Get Active: Why are You a Republican in 2008?
Why are you a Republican in 2008? It's a very good question, one I couldn't hope to explain if I were one. If you are a Republican in 2008, you now have the opportunity to answer in your own YouTube video. This request for submissions has been posted at YouTube, but as far as I can see, all of the video responses are pranks: a dancing shirtless dude, cute cats, a girl with big hooters. . .you get the idea.
It's not hard to see why. The spokesman in this video looks like a typical "old white dude" style Republican, with the shelf of (dubiously natural) hair, dry delivery, and disingenuous labelling of the Republican National Convention as "exciting." He's a very natural fit with John McCain, who despite the mainstream press love affair is far from exciting. Still, if McCain is you're guy, and you're excited about him, why not post a video?

Food Fight: History of Warfare Shown With Food
And now for something completely different. . .
This is very strange, and therefore a perfect thing to post in the middle of a Saturday night. See if you can figure out which nations are fighting, based on the food. Can you tell I've had a cocktail or two before posting this?
[From YouTube Description]
An abridged history of American-centric warfare, from WWII to present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict.

Featured YouTuber: What the Buck?
As I mentioned in my previous post, the ideas aren't coming fast and furious tonight. But I have a few backlogged nuggets, so here's one.
If I had this guy's energy, I'd never run out of things to post. He's something of an internet sensation, so I may be one of the few that has only recently run across him. He's hyper, but pretty funny. Plus at about 5 minutes in, he talks about Mike Huckabee, so it's not entirely irrelevant to the site!
What the Buck is off-color, and its star is tres gay, so if that isn't your cup of tea, move along. If you have heard of Buck, and want to see what the fuss is about, click play.
