Hope You had a Happy Chanukah

Chanukah ended yesterday for those monkeys who may be of Hebrewsapien descent. This Stupid Monkey has a long time friend that celebrates both the Christian spirit of Christmas, for his wife's faith and his own Jewish faith during Chanukah... Really, the kids don't mind!
Since this monkey isn't one to forget to respect the religiomonkeys in this world... Here is something for him & his family & all of the other Jewish faithful in this & other nations. Happy Holidays, whatever you believe.



Apologies to the currently down & out editor for the Adam Sandler/Neil Diamond post... It's still funny either way.
And besides that, this monkey's mom has a soft spot for "The Diamond" Neil.

Belief in God "childish superstition" - Einstein

A letter, penned by Einstein, is about to hit the auction block. In the letter Einstein states his opinions about the belief in god & Judaism in general. Taking time to point out that Jews are not the 'chosen people'. For those taking notes, Einstein's a proud Jew. This write up has a good basic summary of the letter & his thoughts... I am sure plenty more can be fished up from the internet tubes.

John McCain Calls Purim "Jewish Halloween"

I have had only one Jewish friend that I'm aware of, so I have limited knowledge of Jewish holidays (and I'm apparently rather sheltered). But I certainly would not try to educate the press on Passover or Yom Kippur either. John McCain did, only he said that Purim was a Jewish Halloween. And alleged Democrat Joe Lieberman had to save McCain's bacon (ahem, excuse me) yet again.

When McCain made a foreign policy gaffe in Jordan on Tuesday, it was Sen. Joe Lieberman who quietly pointed out the mistake, giving McCain an opportunity to correct himself in front of the international press corps. In Israel yesterday, NBC’s Lauren Appelbaum reports, Lieberman once again intervened when McCain made an incorrect reference about the Jewish holiday Purim -- by calling the holiday "their version of Halloween here. . ."
