Pundits Weigh in On Massachusett's Senate Vote

I'm not sure how much I want to focus on the results of the Massachusetts special Senate election, which historically went to Scott Brown. The Republicans for the first time in eons. Why don't I think I want to focus on it? It's not because I'm a Democrat. I'm nearly as frustrated with them as I am with the GOP. And exactly what does last night's election really portend for the future of US politics. I don't know, but I'm not the only one. Check out the chattering class. . .they haven't quite got it figured out either.

Ann Coulter: Plan 10 From Outer Space

Every once in a while, I feel the need to repost a previous blog post that deserves a little more attention. Blogging and blog readers are fluid and fickle, and worthwhile posts can go by the wayside, unnoticed. So, here is a post, from my dear friend and sometimes relief editor Stupid Monkey Planet on the strange beast that is Ann Coulter.

Guest posted by Stupid Monkey Planet

For a change of pace, here's a post by Stupid Monkey Planet, best friend and fill-in editor. Usually, he posts when I'm away, but today he was getting a bit creative. Time to start up that long-simmering blog of your own, isn't it, Monkey?

ANN COULTER: Plan 10 from Outer Space?

Maybe there is something to the theory about this creature being an alien. Note the appendages, hands, wrists and arms in particular. Some strange bone structure, odd joints and an awfully elongated features on it. Alienish. . .at the very least!!!???

My scientific guess is this is a shape shifting alien. . .from the "Rushlim Bag Moon" orbiting Uranus. I believe the stage the alien is now in what could be called a morphing phase. I think that it is doing it's best to imitate or morph into a woman after failing at being a man.

It does appear to be getting better at this shape shifting bit as it goes along. The breasticles appear larger on it lately. . .and sometimes there are less veins in its NBA basketball player-sized phalanges. I think it also possible that it changes shape with emotion when provoked or soothed. Look at the imagery, and judge for yourself.

That's my case. . . If you need anymore proof try this. . . TVLand

If you squint your eyes when you look at this last picture depicted in the series it is easy to see it/her as a man. Too bad for the ladies and gentlemen. . .she might have been a handsome man. . .if it wasn't for the alien shape shifting thing. ~From Da Monkey

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm thinking the aliens might have gotten a little praying mantis or grasshopper in the DNA matrix of this creature.

Glenn Beck Before He Was Glenn Beck

It's interesting to see where some TV political pundits got their bona fides. Rachel Maddow, for instance, has a degree in public policy, a Rhodes Scholarship, and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Politics. What about rising star, Glenn Beck? Surely--given his massive popularity--he's got to be equally accredited, right?

Surprisingly, no. Apparently, he's an early college dropout (full disclosure, I am too, but I dropped out much later than Beck), and was a wacky morning zoo DJ! That's it! Wanna see him in his previous job?

Why Does Karl Rove Get Any Respect?

The excerpted article below asks a very good question. Why in the world does Karl Rove--hey, "Christian" is literally his middle name--have even a shred of credibility? He lied and schemed for his whole career, committing ethical and most probably violations of the law as a matter of course. He's a detestible toady, who even to his biggest supporters is known as "Turdblossom" or "Rove, you magnificent bastard." They love his scumminess.

Rove's policies have been proven wrong, and even worse, his predictions and pronouncements are regularly proven wrong as well. He's got a horrible track record. Still, people keep asking his opinion. Hell, they pay for it. I suppose this isn't entirely uncommon. Pundits like Bill Kristol, Brit Hume, Mort Kondrake, Charles Krauthammer (and so many others) are quite regularly wrong. And the lord, god, king Mr. Wrong of all time--Dick Cheney--still gives speeches that are covered by all of the cable news channels live.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a career you could suck really bad at, and still get gigs?

Karl Rove, Super Genius

Karl Rove has a regular Wall Street Journal column. He's a Fox News contributor. Newsweek hired him as a contributor. As Gloria Borger said in 2007: "[W]hen Rove speaks, the political class pays attention -- usually with good reason."

But it is increasingly clear that there isn't really any "good reason" to pay attention to what Rove says. . .

Top Political Pundit in America: Karl Rove?

Image from source, Telegraph.co.uk

Karl freakin' Rove? Are you kidding me? Pundit isn't even in the top fifty words I'd use to describe the man. Saying that the sight of him makes me physically ill may be a stretch, but not by much. There is so much this man has done to harm America, figuratively, literally, and in the eyes of other nations--often in concert with many of the others on this list--that it remains one of my fondest wishes to see him frogmarched away in handcuffs.

That said, notice how many of the people in this list are right-leaning or full-blown conservative wing-nuts. Then see how many of the whole 50 that you can definitively nail down as lefties.

The most influential US political pundits

1. KARL ROVE

Dubbed the “architect” and “Bush’s brain”, Rove plotted to rise of George W Bush and departed the White House after the disastrous 2006 mid-term elections. Successful punditry is a combination of real political experience, intellectual nimbleness, a provocative turn of phrase and a coherent point of view. Rove, a Fox News commentator and contributor to Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal, has all these qualities. . .

Is FOX "News" Getting Money's Worth with Rove?

Photo from source, Raw Story

It is not surprising to see a pundit predicting things that do not come to pass. In fact, I'm not sure most of them have accuracy rates any higher than the armchair news-watchers at home. And people like William Kristol seem to almost never be right, and yet keep getting a paycheck.

So, we're not surprised that FOX's lastest inter-departmental transfer from the Bush administration is just as spotty with his information as anybody else. And my thinking has changed regarding Karl Rove. Maybe he's better where he can be seen and observed, rather than skulking around behind the scenes.

Rove flubs on Romney; Is Fox getting its money worth?

Fox News has trumpeted its acquisition of former top White House aide Karl Rove as a political analyst in recent days. But is the "fair and balanced" news network getting its money's worth from President Bush's political architect?
