Barack Obama to Appear on FOX "News" Sunday

One of the things I've liked about Barack Obama is his reluctance to be guided by events the way ordinary politicians do. Unfortunately, he's knuckled under to Chris Wallace. The host of FOX "News" Sunday, easily the schlockiest of the Sunday morning political talk shows, has been running a typically inane bit called "Obama Watch." Using another FOX property, 24, Wallace has a clock of how long it has been since Barack Obama said he'd appear on the show.

Months ago, former Senator John Edwards pledged not to go on FOX, dismissing them as an illegitimate news outlet. Obama seemed to follow suit. I'm not sure what changed his mind, but I hope he's ready for the typical right-wing talking points. He's walking into a firing squad.

Chris Wallace must have some important questions for Barack Obama. After all, the “Fox News Sunday” host has had 769 days to dream them up.

Five weeks after Mr. Wallace introduced “Obama Watch,” a weekly countdown clock marking the number of days since he said Mr. Obama had committed to an interview, the Fox News Channel announced Thursday that the Democratic presidential candidate would appear on its Sunday morning public affairs show this weekend. . .
