Sometimes in a sitcom, it is the "B" story that shines. I was just watching an old episode of Seinfeld called "The Busboy," which has an "A" story about George Costanza getting a busboy fired, and then struggling to make it up to him. But the secondary story centers around a long-distance boyfriend visiting Elaine from Seattle. She quickly comes to loathe him, and is desperate to get him out of her life. The resulting comedy when she oversleeps is a tour-de-force by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and I was delighted to find it available on YouTube. Her best bits are at 0:20 and 2:30. Take a look.
