DHS To Air "Suspicious Activity" Video at Wal-Mart Checkouts

Wait, wait, wait. Don't about eight out of ten Wal-Mart shoppers look suspicious?

Watch: Janet Napolitano Tells Walmart Shoppers to Look for 'Suspicious' Activity in Video to Air at Checkout Counter

If you see something suspicious in the parking lot or in the store, say something immediately. Report suspicious activity to your local police or sheriff. If you need help, ask a Walmart manager for assistance," says Janet Napolitano in a new DHS video. . .

Keith Olbermann's Special Comment Sarah Palin and Other Health Frauds

This is one of the better "Special Comments" Keith Olbermann has done in a while, and on an important subject. We all know that many political issues draw out those who'd rather use scare tactics than facts, but the health care reform issue has brought out the very, very worst. Sarah Palin and "death panels," anyone?

As a side note, did Olbermann get Ed McMahon's glasses in the will? Just asking! (Sorry, Keith.)

Republican Health Care Horror Show!

I like it! Well, not the Republicans, or their scare tactics, or their claim that we have "the best health care system in the world." But this video is well done. Kudos for getting most of my favorite horror movie icons in there!

How to Make a Scary Political Ad

I found this clip while researching the name of that scary music they use in dirty political ads (it's called "Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi (O Fortuna)" by the way). I got onto the topic due to two new GOP be very afraid! videos.

This is how they manufacture attack ads in Australia. Not so very different from American politics, is it? Except that--by and large--it is our conservative party, not the liberal one, that practices these tactics the most. Or at least the worst.

Another GOP Scary Movie!

Ham-fisted, obvious, absolutely lacking in any subtlety whatsoever. The message: "Be afraid! Be very afraid (vote Republican!)." Oh, and "cliches are good." By the way, isn't "Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi (O Fortuna)" played out as scary music by now?

John Boehner's Scary Obama Movie

This is how the GOP is going to turn themselves around? By trying to freak us out? John Boner Boehner apparently put together this little video, with the scary music and imagery. But their central question is odd: "After 100 days, do you feel safer?" Actually, I kinda do, with the creepy Bush Administration gone.

And after hearing "George W. Bush kept us safe!" (even though he presided over the worst terrorist attack on our country since Pearl Harbor), couldn't we just as easily retort that President Obama has kept us safe for 100+ days? Nah, no use fighting stupid with stupid.

Olbermann's Special Comment on Cheney, the Terrorist

Former Vice President Dick Cheney recently crawled out from under his rock, and dispensed a whole bunch of be very afraid proclamations regarding Barack Obama's policies. It was your standard doom-and-gloom scare tactics, that we somehow managed to get used to over the last eight years. And it set Obama up for a huge "I told you so" moment, should there actually be a terrorist attack.

But Republicans wouldn't take advantage of a situation that dire, right? Riiight. Anyway, Keith Olbermann called Cheney on it, and it's pretty good. Check it out.

We're All Gonna Die!

I have had a pretty full day, but thought I'd sit down and write just one more post. But I couldn't find anything to write about. Then, I happened upon this post at FireDogLake, and found out this blogging hobby really doesn't matter anymore.

Why not? Well, sit down. . .ok. . .sitting? Right. Well, it would seem that we're all gonna be dead by Tuesday. Now, now, don't cry. You can take solace in the fact that it's all the Democrats' fault.

Seriously, I love the writer of this piece. Just the right amount of sarcasm and disrespect for The Decider. And not only is the writing good, they included a clip of The Kids in the Hall, doing a skit about the necessity of following Our Great Leader, even if we don't understand why. Since it's a YouTube clip, I'll post it too, right after the excerpt. Enjoy.

Late Night FACT: You Will Die Horribly No Later Than Tuesday

Last week I informed you that
your favorite candidate sucks. This week I bring you even better news. It doesn't matter that your favorite Democratic candidate, who sucks, has no chance to win the nomination, much less the election. Why?

Because you are going to be dead by Tuesday. It's a FACT. Deader than Julius Caesar. Deader than Fred Thompson in Iowa. As dumb dead as a ham sandwich that just got hanged for murder most foul. . .
