Keith Olbermann's Special Comment on Clinton's Assassination Comment

Watch it.

  1. I have been a life long democrate but at this point in time I am so irritated I am going republican.

I have never seen an environment where the press is so in the pocket of any candidate.

There is absolutely nothing that anyone can criticize Obama for. The press finds everything he says to be above questioning and everything that anyone else says is turned around to be something some major issue.

I sincerely hope the 17 million people that have voted for Hillary Clinton either stay home or vote for McCain just to deprive the press of their golden idol.

Having four years of McCain cannot do as much damage to this country as the last 12 months of race baiting and women hating has done to rational debate and discussion in this country.

  2. I was wondering where all the Hillary Clinton supporters were, and now I've had one comment on my own blog. OK, then. . .

When this campaign started, I was elated that there were THREE great candidates to choose from: Clinton, Obama and Edwards. Edwards was my choice, and when he was out, I basically took Obama on a coin-toss. Since then, however, I've pulled away from Clinton in a big way. Why? Because her tactics remind me of the politics of the last 8 years.

One of the things I detest about GOP Rovian tactics, is that they reframe and restate issues to fit the facts. Clinton is doing that regularly. She twists and bends the facts to mold her own reality. She has the most popular votes! Um, if you count Michigan and Florida, and ONLY count them for HER. . .and then only maybe.

That's only one example of many. But your comment that Obama is above questioning is laughable. What of the 30-day 24/7 cable focus on Jeremiah Wright? What of the Sean Hannity-planted Ayers questions? Are you kidding me man?

No, you're not kidding me, you're just crazy, or you are a Rush Limbaugh listnener. Rush is pumping that "Obama is beyond questioning" line, in fact was doing so today on his show.

Any Democrat who thinks that John McCain is preferable to Obama is absolutely NUTS. Voting Republican after the last 8 years of DISASTER is simply insane.

    Race baiting and sexism? Bullshit.

  3. 1st of all - Keith Olbermann truly expresses the level of passion that our country desperatley needs, he is one of the few voices that speak for those of us who cherish the opportunity of free thought and common sense.

2nd: Hillary Clinton lost it roughly three months ago, this recent travesty is unforgiveable and a further indication that she represents the politics of the past. Shame on her for invoking the unthinkable but also for the many tactics which Mr. Olbermann so perfectly articulated.

3rd. The Republican toolbox who "is voting for McCain so the "liberal media" isn't rewarded with a democratic canidate is obviously a poser. (I would consider calling them an GOP operative, but I doubt if they're being paid for inhabiting blogs that don't perpetuate the Neo-Conservative/Religious Zealot line)- I think for this particular individual it's just a small rush of adrenaline to sow the seeds of dischord. ---- GET A LIFE. We can accomplish much more in this country, on this planet, in this universe if we are all working together, if we see humanity as one organism all striving for common good. The politics of division practiced by the likes of McCain, Clinton and PTJO must become the tactics of the past, they serve only those who create the division.

McCain is the past, he is old Washington, he is the dying legacy of failed economic and foreign policies. Beyond that he's funnling my money to defense contractors - which makes me sick.

    Cheers.

  4. Well, Anonymous, I'd have to disagree with "I doubt if they're getting paid. . ." It may sound tin-foil hatty of me, but I'm quite certain that there are paid operatives surfing the internet, commenting here and there to get the talking points seeded. I'm only surprised that they might be interested in my little tiny corner of the internets.

There is also the stong medicine that spikes the Limbaugh kool-aid (OxyContin/Viagra cocktail?). His listeners will do ANYTHING for him, and the comment you reference was echoing Rush's talking point of the week. The dittoheads are very lucky that Rush hasn't bought a large tract of land in Guyana. They could very easily all be bloating in the sun by now. . .

Right now, genuine Democrats who support Clinton are saying they'll vote for McCain if Obama gets the nomination. I believe that most of them are just sore right now, and would come to their senses by November. But the longer this drags on, the less time they will have to spit out the sour grapes.

After yesterday's outrageous statement by Clinton, I simply cannot believe her supporters are still thinking she's getting a raw deal. She's buttered her bread, now she has to lie in it. Um, something like that.
