Lifelock Identity Theft Protection Company Sued
Amusing photo from Crooks & Liars
Here's some advice: don't believe radio commercials. I listen to a lot of radio, primarily of the talk variety, and also primarily of the left-wing variety (surprise!). But I also like to douse myself with some of the right-wing variety too (Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin--in smallish doses). And one thing I've noticed about radio (all radio) is that its sponsors tend to be scammers.
Work at home scams. Time-share scams. Get-rich-quick scams. Diet scams. They use many transparent techniques to trick you into calling right now! Operators are standing by! They make it sound like their testimonials are being phoned in. They make it sound like a radio host is interviewing an "expert." They pretend that they're tearing up their script and "speaking from their hearts." To me a good rule of thumb is, if they're playing you to try to sell you something, what they're selling is probably worthless (funny, the same could apply to Senator Clinton).
Celebrity endorsements of a product aren't much better, but you assume that the celebrity will have checked out the product in order to protect their reputation. Not so, as this scam shows.
The best part? One of the prime celebrity endorsements of this product is Rush Limbaugh. He has been hawking this service for months. He practically personally guaranteed its effectiveness. Can the scammed people sue Rush too?

Now, Lifelock customers in Maryland, New Jersey and West Virginia are suing Davis, claiming his service didn't work as promised and he knew it wouldn't, because the service had failed even him. . .
