I'm getting ready to depart on a vacation of sorts. I'm not gone yet, but preparations and whatnot will absorb a bit of my time. There will still be daily posts, as I'll be sprinkling in some time-released goodness to pop open on schedule. And we'll have internet access most of the time, so I'll stick my head in and say "hi" when I have the opportunity. But it's going to kind of look like a long holiday weekend does on most of the rest of the internet, that is to say, not much new and reruns!

So, if you don't like Greenlee Gazette Lite­™, please come back when I'm at full strength, probably October 2 or 3. Which--as luck would have it--is right in time for the first Obama/Romney debate!

Private Jet Tax Loophole: Not a Metaphor; It's Real

Conservatives are barking mad about the "private jet" tax loophole that President Obama keeps talking about. It's just a metaphor, the latest "class warfare" fake phrase. What, like "limousine liberal?" But hey, guess what, it's not. It's a real thing. It is true that Obama used it specifically because of its brazenness and likelihood to strike a chord, I've no doubt of that. But he didn't make the thing up. It's there, it's stupid, it should be eliminated, no matter what that putz Grover Norquist thinks.

Back to Ohio: Leaving on a Jet Plane

Don't know when I'll be back again. . . No, that's not true, I'll be back on Wednesday night. Right now, I'm scurrying around, making sure I've got everything--sure I'll forget something major. Amazingly found some fat clothes that (sorta) fit, since last spring I was apparently smaller. Oops. I guess that's what nearly a year of blogging will do to you!

Meanwhile, I'm leaving the blog in capable hands. In addition to sporadic visits here from me, Stupid Monkey Planet will be filling in. Rated PC-MA, no one without a sense of humor, irreverence or irony allowed without a parent or guardian! I'll also see if I can cajole The Other Half--who is staying home--to contribute a little.
