Herman Cain's Alleged Unwanted Sexy Time Keeps Coming

Black Walnut with two scoops of vanilla.

Herman Cain's biggest problem (aside from the possibility that he really did sexually harass and assault several women) is that he's such an unpolished politician, he has no idea how to handle it. His obvious instinct is to obfuscate (lie). Then he'd change his story (usually with another lie), while insisting that his story has been consistent. He's also very fond of using language that is too precise. Like saying things like "exonerated" or that there was "nothing" to any of the charges, that they had been found "baseless." Hmm, baseless charges that begat at least two large payouts to the claimants?

And then he just makes stuff up. He's made up a big "Democrat machine" that is smearing him (oddly, factual revelations of past charges is a smear), then grudgingly acknowledges he--again--doesn't have facts to back that up. I used to say that George W. Bush reminded me of what would happen if my step-dad were pushed onto a stage, and told to be the President. Well, ol' Herman is like my dad on a bender. I've heard he's not ready for prime-time. But he's not ready for BET. Or even Comedy Central (okay, maybe that one).

Oddly, the right-wing spin machine has decided that Cain is a saint, and that all the women are fame whores. . .or just whores. They've decided that sexual harassment is always a fraud. They're standing by their man. If I were them, I'd be as worried about his greenness, his dimness and his willingness to lie as I would be about the allegations.

[Excerpt]

For Herman Cain, two named accusers; one flat denial
Offering a stout response to two women who have accused him of acting improperly, GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain said Tuesday that he’s not a sexual harasser and will not allow the swirling controversy to derail his campaign.

“The charges and the accusations, I absolutely reject,” he said. “They simply didn’t happen. They simply did not happen. . .”

  1. I'd like to see Larry Flynt, or similar, offer money to any of the women who might have said "Yes" to Herman Cain't Keep His Hands Off You.

Those may prove to be even more interesting stories.

  2. Seriously, look at the women. If Herman sexually assualted these wo women, his problem isn't that he sexually assualted them but why? These two ugly looking women who got hit by the ugly stick?
If he did do it, it probably was to boost their self image.

  3. Oh come on Dan! That's pretty fucking shallow.

According to Mrs. Stupid Monkey... Herman Cain is certainly no prize. She considers him out of his league.

That aside... I do not think that the way these women look is the issue. The issue is that Herman is appearing more & more like a habitual sexual offender. His side stepping of direct questions & memory lapses certainly doesn't help.

We need to focus on the fact that he has made a number of women feel uncomfortable (or worse) enough to be compelled to report his actions to others. And receive monetary payouts on top of it.

I also know that if one of these women happened my wife I would be absolutely furious at the people who make an issue of her looks in order to skirt the fact at hand. We cannot use this issue to diminish the strength & voices of women.

Turning this into an issue of "She's not hot enough to sexually assault..." is pretty fucked up.

  4. Monkey, funny that you put "hand" and "skirt" in the same sentence.

Yes, the dismissiveness of the right on the entire issue of sexual harassment (not to mention sexual assault) is disgusting. And trying to dig up dirt on the women is even worse. Demonizing the witness is the precise reason most women DON'T report these things.

This issue though, is obscuring the real one: Herman Cain is in NO WAY prepared to be President.
