Veridian Dynamics: You Should Be Watching Better Off Ted

Better Off Ted is a terrific sitcom with a terrible name. There is no laugh track--for you out there who are sitcom adverse--and that's a good thing, because the laughter wouldn't ever stop. BOT contains so many back-to-back hilarious and quotable lines, I often have to rewind the DVR just to catch the stuff I laughed over.

The show takes place in a large corporation, with cubicles, offices and science labs. The primary charcters are Ted (the adorable Jay Harrington) a mid-level executive; Veronica (the hilarious Portia de Rossi) the icy, soulless division head; Linda the product tester; and Phil and Lem the nerdy scientists. There are more jokes packed into a typical episode than you'd find in an entire season of a more traditional sitcom. And just when you're catching your breath, there will often be a faux commercial for Veridian Dynamics, the corporation that all the characters work for.

I know that when Greenlee Gazette advocates watching a show, it is doomed to an early cancellation, but the writing seems to be on the wall for Better Off Ted anyway. So instead of begging people to watch to save the show, I'll just suggest you catch it while you can so that you can laugh your ass off before it disappears forever. Better Off Ted airs on ABC (for now) on Tuesday nights. Times vary.
Here are some of the Veridian Dynamics spots, which was the original reason I started this post. It'll give you a sense of the show's off-beat humor.
