Just because she is asking for parole doesn't mean she'll get it. Charles Manson has appeared before a parole board more than once in the past couple decades. I doubt this woman will be more successful -- people have a particular abhorrence of cannibalism or any sort of corpse mutilation, even if it's only done for practical reasons (because a dismembered corpse is easier to move). Wisconsin has a long and colorful history of particularly transgressive murders and/or postmortem corpse defilement, and I have noticed that the perpetrators are usually punished more than those who inflict just as much suffering on living human beings but leave their dead bodies alone. Our culture has strong superstitions and religious beliefs involving the need to respect the dead, and we instinctively despise those who do not share those beliefs.
