It's probably a short list, but I'm sure she'll get to it all eventually.

New Stupid Things Sarah Palin Can Say
Sarah Palin released a video statement Wednesday calling the rush to blame on conservatives for the Tucson shooting a “blood libel.” I thought using that phrase was incredibly stupid since, ya know, traditionally blood libels mean someone has been accusing the Jews of stealing gentile babies and draining them of their blood to make bread. . .

CNN's Rick Sanchez Fired Over Remarks About Jon Stewart
![]() |
| Image from source, Washington Post |
Stewart has picked on Sanchez regularly on The Daily Show, making him out to be something of a big doofus. And he does seem to be that. There have been a couple of rants by Sanchez that I agreed with, but I guess a guy who is unafraid--or stupid enough--to just let loose on air is going to hit on something that resonates occasionally. But really, Sanchez's "woe is me, only I'm oppressed" take on things is particularly weird. Yes, he has a Hispanic last name, and is from Cuba. But he's a also a traditionally handsome man, with a daily program on a national news network. This guy has been discriminated against? Really?
Okay, I'll concede that there are a lot of bigoted people--Sanchez is apparently one of them--and that even a successful TV hunk could find himself on the receiving end of bigotry. But who hasn't? I'm a white guy, and would not presume to get into a "who is more oppressed" argument. But I'm also gay, liberal and agnostic. I've been on the receiving end of prejudice plenty, in person and online. But what am I gonna do, blame it on the Jews? C'mon. Good for CNN for canning this guy so quickly. I'm sure he thinks the Jews who control TV are responsible though.
By the way, his book is aptly named. . .

CNN's Rick Sanchez fired after explosive interview on satellite radio
CNN fired Rick Sanchez on Friday afternoon in response to a radio interview on a SiriusXM radio show during which Sanchez called Comedy Central late-night host Jon Stewart a "bigot" and implied that the media as a whole are controlled by Jews. Appearing on "Stand Up! With Pete Dominick" to promote his new book, "Conventional Idiocy," Sanchez went on to assert that he has been the victim of discrimination at the cable news network. . .

Happy Hanukkuh, Hellbound!

No, I don't think Jewish people are going to hell. I don't even believe in hell. But I thought this was funny.
[Excerpt]
[Excerpt]
We, of course, don't think our Jewish friends are going to hell (Ari, you're safe), but Barack Obama's bff Rick Warren outright told a Jewish woman, in front of a large gasping crowd, that she was going to hell because she hasn't converted to Christianity. That's not civility we can believe in.

The Origins of the Bogus "War on Christmas"

Image from source, The Daily Beast
This was touched on in the post below, but I thought it deserved its own post. Ever wonder where this silly "War on Christmas" came from? It's really not surprising, but I'll bet a lot of O'Reilly Factor FOX "News" fans aren't aware. I have to say though, it fits right in with their ideology.

Who Started the War on Christmas?
What would Christmas be without warnings of the secular crusade to destroy it? Thanks to the fulminations of cable news cranks and evangelical moralists, the War on Christmas has become an annual outrage. The story typically goes as follows: secular elements have intimidated stores into replacing the phrase “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays;” nativity scenes have been removed from public spaces under threat of ACLU lawsuits; a decadent culture is moving ever closer to eradicating Christian morality; and America slouches towards Gomorrah. . .

I'm Ashamed to be from Ohio: Racist Obama Display
This is just hideous. And it goes without saying, stupid. This "Halloween" display is one of the must jumbled, ridiculous attempts at political thought I've ever seen. It's a ghost hanging from a noose. . .which is itself a head scratcher. How do you hang a ghost?
It also has an Obama sign on it, upside down for some reason. There is a Star of David on its head, why, I have no idea. And, the icing on the cake, Barack Obama's middle name, Hussein, misspelled on its chest. Brilliant dude. I may have to claim Ohio, but at least I'm not from Fairfield.
And just wait til you hear the man's commentary on his creation. . .
