The New Republican Congress: The First Step's a Doozy

I haven't posted a Rachel Maddow clip in a while, mostly because she's been away. So, it's time for one, after her first day back. And like the title, this clip is a doozy. Rachel points out how the list of promises made by Republicans to their tea bagging crowd are being methodically ignored, modified or otherwise weaseled out of.  I suspect it will only get worse, and I actually predicted this a while back. There is no way for a governing body to govern and simultaneously drown that same government in the bathtub, per Tea Party wishes. It's one or t'other, you guys. And this Congress thingy? It's got its traditions, and its got its schemes. It's got its fundraisers (before they started day one!) and it's got its lobbyists.

But will the Tea Party notice? Will their antennae be down since the Republicans are at the reins?  Will they even be a viable political entity anymore, with their chosen crowd at the helm? Time will tell.
