Ackkk! Somebody Hired Rita Cosby!
Image from Think Progress
There used to be three, count 'em, three "all-missing-white-girls-all-the-time" shows on cable news, On the Record with Greta van Susteren, Nancy Grace, and Live & Direct with Rita Cosby. I find all of those shows unwatchable, but the latter was just the worst.
Keith Olbermann was rumored to have called Cosby something like "dumber than a suitcase full of rocks." And as indelicate as that may have been amongst colleagues, it was a generous assessment of her talent, in my estimation. I'll always picture her plastered against the glass of that weirdo "JonBenet Ramsey" dude's car, screaming in her raspy voice for a quote.
Amazingly enough, even though MSNBC got wise and let her go, someone out there thought she'd be a good fit for their show. Who would do that? Bill O'Reilly's old show, Inside Edition! And I have to agree, perfect fit. But I wouldn't count on getting a Peabody. . .
