I will not be posting much if anything today, due to an engagement. But I thought I'd let you all know exactly what I'm up to, because it's rather interesting.
Some time ago, friends of ours generously bought a huge batch of grapes to share amongst four couples. You might find that a bit odd, but it's what we were going to do with the grapes that was the treat. Over a period of months, we processed those grapes into wine at a fantastic place called Grape Expectations. In all, each couple will receive over sixty bottles of wonderful red wine, called Sangiovese Cabernet.
Since three out of eight of the people involved (including myself) are graphic artists, we've been working on label designs over the last several weeks. This afternoon, we're having a label proofing party--deciding on which labels everybody likes, and how many they want of each.
This has lead to marvelous inventiveness, a small rivalry between Mrs. Stupid Monkey Planet and myself (she won), and hopefully fun for everyone. We're hoping that with each couples batches of 60+ wine bottles, that they appear to have many different and interesting wines!
I have no idea how much the endeavor costs, since we had generous benefactors. But I've got to think that split between a group of people it would be worth it, if you're interested. Here's a blurb from the Grape Expectations web site:
