Rachel Maddow: The Middle Has Moved
I've been saying for a long time that the idea of "the middle" as it pertains to politics, has moved dramatically to the right. People like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin, Mark Levin, et. al, are extreme right-wingers. But they're treated these days as simply "the right." Or by hard-right wingers as "too centrist." Because of this, anyone to the left of these people are now labeled as "far left." But they're not. How is this affecting the Republican Party? It's turning them into a party of rabid rightists, that's what.
