Funny Lady Stephanie Miller Finally Releases Her Memoirs!

I know that sometimes the blog (when I'm actually posting) kind of resembles a Best of Stephanie Miller Show fan site. For the record, I was posting The Rude Pundit and several other areas of overlap before I heard them on Steph's show, but still. I'm a huge fan. So, I'm very happy that her long rumored memoirs are being released on Amazon! And she's got the first chapter available online for free, so, hop to it! Here you go!

Cheney's New Book Tries to Re-Write History

Also, water is wet. Las Vegas is hot in August. And Glenn Beck is still crazy. Really, could anything be more predictable than Dick Cheney using the occasion of his memoir to spin, polish the truth and outright lie? We'd really expect nothing less. The question is, how long is this heartless man (okay, his heart is still there, it just doesn't beat anymore) going to keep popping up? Goodness knows he really shouldn't even be walking free. Of the huge number of Bush Administration officials who should have long ago gone to jail, I can't think of any (except maybe Karl Rove) more deserving than Cheney.

One thing we do know is that he has continued to lie long after he ceased to have a pulse.

We've known for some time that George W. Bush's memoirs were going to be out shortly after the election. We also knew that it would largely be an effort to shore up his fairly saggy legacy. So, of course we figured that it would have a few lapses from the truth. How could it not? Anyway, while the title Decision Points is suitably vague and typically odd phrasing ("I'm the decider!"), I much preferred my own book idea for him, from the early days of the blog.

What the hey, I haven't picked on Sarah Palin in a little while. As radio host Jon Elliott says, you can't leave her alone. She's like a chew toy to a dog! Anyhow, it would seem that Palin's camera-ready arrivals at her many book signings across this great country of ours in her fancy-schmancy Sarah bus are a bit artificial. Her bus is little more than a very big taxi from her plane. Her $4,000-per-hour plane. Am I picking nits here? Maybe, but one of the main things her rabid fans like to say about her is how real, how truthful, how genuine she is. Moose crap. Also.

FOX "News" Displays Going Rouge Instead of Going Rogue

The crafty editors of The Nation have written a Sarah Palin critique book called Going Rouge: An American Nightmare, which bares some similarity to Palin's real book, Going Rogue: An American Life. The legendary FOX "News" production department displayed the wrong book cover to their audience yesterday. I personally can't wait until Rouge hits bookstores, and Palinites who aren't so good with the spelling, pick it up by mistake. You know it's going to happen!

I know. As Jon Stewart says in the clip below, from The Daily Show, "Paaaaliiiinnnnn!!! Nooooo!!!" Don't worry, this Palin thing will burn off in a few days. Like the Michael Jackson movie, This is It, the big fans will get Going Rogue, Also early. And I'll be gone for the next three days, so I won't be saturating the blog with Palin crap this weekend! Sarah Palin's Going Rogue GOES ROGUE!

In a cute skit from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Sarah Palin's book Going Rogue gets loose, and "goes rogue," including shooting Rachel Maddow! Yeah, you knew I'd work in Palin and Maddow somewhere tonight, right? Right.

Rachel Maddow again? Sarah Palin again?!? I mean really!?! Yes, yes, but this is some pretty great stuff. Rachel got some comments from one of Palin's biggest targets from her book Going Rogue, Also, Though. Her name is Nicole Wallace, and she was one of Palin's handlers on the John McCain campaign. To say that Wallace has a dim view of Goin' All Mavericky would be putting it lightly.

But the sparks really fly once Rachel starts talking to Ana Marie Cox (originator of Wonkette). Cox declares that Palin's dreams of elected office have been officially dashed by the book, and that her peak of influence is today. If Cox is right, it's all downhill for Palin from here on out. So, Sarah, throw up your hands and go wheeeee!

Oh. My. God. A memoir by former Vice President (and current) Dick Cheney? I can't imagine that he'd be willing to give us the true story. But if he did, I imagine it would look pretty much like the page at left.

Ah, yes. Not only will George W. Bush have a Presidential liberry lie-bury library, he's going to have a book to put in it! I'll spare you any speculation on what it might be called, or what it might contain. I'm just not feeling clever enough to do it justice this evening. But it does bear mentioning that he committed one of his famous "Bushisms" while announcing the upcoming tome. Apparently, it's going to be an "authoritarian" view.

Bush--who has been (along with the sinister Darth Cheney) hiding most of what he's doing, or lying about it--write about his administration? And how can a man who can barely string a coherent sentence together write a book? Will there be lots of pictures? Drawings? Sudoku?

US President George W Bush, scrutinised in books by former colleagues including a blistering critique by his ex-spokesman, is considering writing a memoir of his own.
