Yayyy, Calvin! It's about time something
respectable came out of
Calvin and Hobbes after 15 years of those ridiculous, pirated "Calvin peeing on things" vehicle graphics. Note: if you have Calvin peeing on something on the back of your car, you are a
moron.

Calvin and Hobbes was in rare company in the comics pages, being both intelligent and
funny, something most comics aren't. Like Berkeley Breathed's creations
(Bloom County, Outland and
Opus) and Gary Larson's
The Far Side, Bill Watterson's
Calvin was a breath of fresh air that transcended the banality of
Beetle Bailey and the once (long ago) great
Garfield. And like Breathed and Larson, Watterson freakin' retired. All of these artists seemed to be worried that their comics would descend into the blandness of
Hi & Lois, The Family Circus or
Snuffy Smith. I really,
really doubt that they would have. They are all missed greatly.
