Have you ever watched FOX "News" during a live political event? For all the "FOX Fans" out there who adamantly insist that FOX is "fair and balanced,"--though the fans are invariably right-wing themselves--their bias comes out most strongly in these events. They may not put Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity front and center during a debate, but their vibe is decidedly evident.
Chris Wallace and Brit Hume exude right-wing bias in their mannerisms, words, choice of questions, everything. And they haul out William Kristol, Dick Morris, Charles Krauthammer and Karl freakin' Rove to give analysis. Ever see a prominent Democrat in this mix? Maybe, but it sure didn't spring to mind. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, what I'm getting to is that FOX "News" usually has a text messaging poll to go along with whatever political event is being aired. In the case of a debate like last night, they will ask simply "who won?" And given that we're talking about a FOX "News" audience--the polls usually show a heavily weighted conservative bias. It's kind of funny, and was particularly during the Republican primaries when the polls weren't going Hannity's way. He claimed the polls were being hacked, even though FOX's polls can only be one vote per phone.
So, when an event turns out to be heading toward the liberal side winning, what's FOX to do? If you're Steve Doocey--a man as goofy as his name--you use the lopsided FOX poll as your source to say OUR SIDE WON! Whatever. . .

'Bigger flag pin' also meant Palin won, Doocy says
The perky conservatives at Fox & Friends had a challenge before them Friday morning. While Sarah Palin bested the abysmally low expectations that preceded her vice presidential debate performance, 'good enough' just wasn't a good enough spin for Steve Doocy and his crew. . .
