As a person who finds himself much older than he feels, I hate to cast aspersions upon my elders. But I'm seriously wondering if there shouldn't be a cut-off age for higher office. Or a mental acuity test, or something. This Senator Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) guy is behaving like a crotchety old man, yelling at the kids who have traipsed through his begonias.
So the guy single-handedly prevents hundreds of thousands of people from receiving unemployment checks, throws a couple thousand employed people out of work, stalls highway projects. . .Then he flips the bird and says "tough shit?" No, seriously, he did both of those things. If this is some misguided attempt to make people think the Democrats done it, I think enough noise is being made of this to prove otherwise. Maybe Bunning--who is not running for re-election--just decided to let his old crank flag fly, rotten kids be damned.
