Senator Franken Schools Senate on Principle

I wrote often about Senator Al Franken's torturous fight to actually get seated as Senator. But I haven't often enough taken note of just how good Franken is at his job. Time to amend that. Here is Franken, taking issue with Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.), and his so-called principled stand in blocking a measure that extends COBRA and unemployment benefits. Franken rightly puts into context the utter lack of concern of Bunning and his colleagues on fiscal matters during the Bush Administration. And reminds them of the enormous budget surplus squandered by Bush and the Republican Congress.
