MoveOn.org Members Endorse Barack Obama

Photo from source, MoveOn.org

The right wing loves their bogeymen, and to them MoveOn.org is a collection of befanged, rabid, scary bogeymen. Along with George Soros and Hillary Clinton, there is no surer way to whip the likes of Sean Hannity into a lather than to suggest MoveOn.org did or said something.

Well, the all-powerful, eeeeevil MoveOn.org's members (of which I am one*) did not align themselves with Hillary Clinton, they chose Barack Obama, more than two to one. Does that mean Obama is now a bogeyman too? If so, they'd better be really careful with their words of dirision. There's a very thin line between demonizing and racism. But it will be fun to watch them squirm with it, I've gotta say.

MoveOn Members Endorse Obama

Dear MoveOn member,

With hundreds of thousands of ballots cast across the country, for the first time in MoveOn's history, we've voted together to endorse a presidential candidate in the primary. That candidate is Barack Obama.

Vote results
Obama: 197,444 (70.4%)
Clinton: 83,084 (29.6%)

We know how to roll up our sleeves and win elections, and if we all pitch in together between now and Tuesday, we can help Sen. Obama win the biggest primary day in American history. Think about it: volunteering during the next four days could mean four years of a progressive president. Can you sign up right now to volunteer for Obama's campaign? Click here:

*Just a note to say, that while I am technically a member of MoveOn, I've never contributed to their cause. As an organization, I'm sure they're fine, I just haven't participated much in their activities. The right believes that MoveOn issues marching orders, and controls vast swaths of the Democratic base. I'm not sure I believe that. As a left-wing blogger, I can honestly say I've only used them as a source two or three times, and rarely visit their site. Just sayin'.
